Munin and Exodus walked in silence for a while, the pair meticulously scanning the forest for any would-be threats. Munin was quite bored, and couldn't wait to exit this place. Exodus, on the other hand, was quite fascinated by the variety of flora and fauna in this forest, his biologist side peeking out from his usual personality.

"The flora here is fascinating..." Exodus mused, gently touching the trunks of the trees around them as he walked past. "These should not be physically possible, and yet... could it be due to the constant exposure to magic?"

Munin sighed. "Don't give me that bro." Munin sighed again, shaking his head. "Napalm would go hard here, let's be honest," he said, smirking. Exodus chuckled.

"Yes, it would." He said, smiling back. "That's what we did in half of the Amazon, no?" Munin shrugged.

"That was before our era. Nobody knows if it burned because of conflict or some other reason." He said, shrugging. "I don't believe there's another legitimate reason to burn down a jungle, but I digress." Exodus nodded, sighing.

"It's so unfortunate that almost all of history was lost." He said, sighing. Munin nodded in agreement. "Did you hear the rumor about how there's an info vault up north?" He asked casually. Munin shrugged, looking around at their surroundings

"Even if there was one, the ocean owns it now." He said. "And I sure as hell am not using Icosahedron's resources to go into the toxic water and dig up possibly hazardous info." Exodus sighed.

"I guess..." he said.

Munin nodded, before stopping cold in his tracks, raising his gun.

"What the hell was that?" He asked, alert. Exodus frowned, not hearing the sound.

"What...-" he started, but was cut off by a rustling from the bushes to their left. Exodus immediately raised his gun as well. With the two extra cases magnetized to the ports on the back of each of their suits, their motions were both somewhat uncomfortable, but that discomfort showed in Exodus much more than in Munin. The two said nothing to each other, but followed their training and spread out a bit, both still pointing their guns at the forest. Their bodies tensed as the rustling got louder, and then, something popped out of the underbrush.

It was a fudging fox.

Like... literally just a regular fox. It was cute though, so it had that going for it I guess. The two just stared at it for a moment, before Exodus picked it up.

"Munin, it's... a fox?" He said, frowning. "But... our realities are completely separate... the possibilities of the same animal appearing in another physical dimension is... practically 0..." Munin lowered his rifle and walked over to Exodus and examined the fox. He looked it up and down, observing its features.

Then he proceeded to give it a head pat.

"Hmm... cute." He said, caressing the animal's furry head. "I doubt it's a fox... it looks uncannily similar, but it's too... kawaii, I guess? It seems... unnaturally cute." He said, voicing his opinion. "Its size tells me it's fully grown, but it's facial structure and tail...it looks like something out of Genshin Impact (do not own. Obviously. Pls don't sue)." Exodus looked at him, concerned.
