"Everything you are about to hear is classified up to a level 4 security clearance. All additional information is on a need-to-know basis. Information leakage will be dealt with according to the Internal Peacekeeping policy, page 1029, paragraph five." The officer said as the projector finally started up, lighting up the room in a dim light. "The target of this operation is James Pender, the leader of the cultist organization codenamed Sapphire-5. This organization has been suspected of conducting various chemical attacks on the north-western provinces in the early 3050s, and has been loosely connected to over a dozen disappearances."

"All suspected, nothing confirmed." Added the other officer who was leaning on the wall of the room, his gray eyes scanning the group in the little conference room.

"Yes. Nothing yet confirmed. However, earlier today, the local police received a call from an individual whom High Command believes is in danger, and this picture was received." She said, clicking the remote, moving the briefing along. On the screen was now a somewhat grainy image of a humanoid figure. No features were discernible. Even the background was so screwed up by some sort of radiation corruption that it was completely unrecognizable. "Soon after, Peacekeeping MTF unit E-109 was dispatched to secure all data and all non-Icosahedron personnel who had witnessed anything to do with this anomaly. Soon after, High Command ordered a regional threat level increase to Ruby 1 and a state of emergency that requires immediate action." She said, and the temperature in the room seemingly dropped by a good 10 degrees. The soldiers subtly glanced at each other. The threat level had never gone above Emerald 6 since 3053 when the first gas attacks occurred. Ruby 1 meant a threat to national security on a level above humanity itself. This was... a bit extra, no? One anomaly shouldn't require such concern... "The clock is still ticking, and High Command has deemed it necessary to conduct a raid on the commune." The soldiers all nodded.

"Your objective is to recon the commune, assess for any anomalous activity and secure the area for a containment team. All personnel on site are to be detained or neutralized in accordance with the ROE." The other officer said, his voice more gravelly and harsh than the smooth lilt of the other officer's tone. Regardless, soldiers nodded, each standing to gear up. "If no activity is found, you will exfil and RTB. FP-002 will be on site to support, unit Nu-007 will provide short range artillery support and ISR, with specialists from Zeta-009, Vector-096, and Juliet-172 helping secure the perimeter. And as usual, Gamma-005 will be running electronic interference and keeping this all under the radar." There was a pause, the silence only broken by the rustling of plate carriers and the sounds of guns being checked and magazines being loaded. "Any questions?"

Silence.

The helicopter was silent for most of the ride, the only thing keeping Munin awake was the dim red light inside and the ambient sound of the blades, drilling into his consciousness. He checked his gun for the umpteenth time, making sure every meticulous detail was perfect. The rifle was modified to have the fire rate of a lightweight SMG while still shooting the same 5.58mm rounds. On the end of the barrel was a muzzle brake and suppressor, with a laser sitting close behind next to the front skeleton grip. On the top was a simple red dot and a flip-up 5x scope. Sitting on top of his helmet was a quad-barrel NOD and a gas mask covered his face. He heard a knock on the metal wall, and looked up, seeing the copilot standing there.
