Theo
Valentina's hair is in a messy bun. Her front is covered in a blue apron, and under it is her white tank top and black shorts. White flour stains cover the apron as she mixes pancake mix in a bowl.
There are two sparkly pinks plates set on the counter next to two white plates. "Where'd you get the plates?" I questions while standing next to her by the stove.
Valentina gives me a funny look and a small laugh. She ignores my question and uses a deep spoon to put more batter on the pan.
With a chuckle, I get behind her and wrap my arms around her. "And why on earth are you making a pile of pancakes."
"Very funny." She muses. "Now go sit down, you can plate the food for us when I'm done making it."
"Alright." I frown and place a kiss on her cheek. Did we have guests I'm not aware of? Maybe Brooke and Brian?
I watch as she completes her mountain of pancakes and moves on to a pan full of scrambled eggs. "That's a lot of food amor, even for four people."
She lightly shakes her head with a smile. "You know they love having seconds."
"Right." I mumble and watch as she lets the eggs cook and she moves to cutting up strawberries into little hearts. She fills a bowl with them and some blueberries.
"Blueberries for one and strawberries for the other, you know how they claim they don't like the same fruit then they share anyways." She smiles fondly and pulls a tray out of the air fryer that has four sausage patties and four hash browns. "Can you help me plate the food now?"
"Of course." I'm quick to stand as she goes back to moving the eggs around. She scolds me along the way for putting too much food on the pink plates.
"I know I said they love seconds Theo, but that's a bit much." She corrects the portions and gives me a kiss on the cheek, "grab the orange juice please. I just made some, it's in the fridge."
I grab the pitcher and place it on the counter. I open our cabinets and furrow my brows when I see a bunch of small cups. Pink cups, blue cups, purple cups, and they're all covered in glitter. I pull two pink ones to match the plates and two glass ones for Valentina and I.
I pour juice in all four and place them next the plates that are now set at the table. The smaller pink plates have two small pancakes with one sausage each, a hash brown, eggs, and a side of fruit.
"You want to wake them or should I?" Valentina questions coming up to my side.
"What?" I gaze down at her as she hugs my side.
"I'll do it." She presses a kiss on my chest. "You're too tired. Late night at work?"
I nod dumbly not being able to get any words out. Valentina always looks so beautiful, but the way she's glowing right now? It renders me speechless.
"Alright." She grins and she pulls off her apron. "I'll be right back, sit down." I take a seat before one of the white plates and watch as she goes down our hall and up the stairs.
My eyes go up to the ceiling following the sound of her footsteps. The movement stops right above me, and before I know it I hear squeals and many feet pattering.
Valentina is the first to emerge with a dazzling smile. "They missed you."
"Daddy!" Two small identical girls run from behind her towards me. My brows fly to my hairline as they rush over to me.
