Theo
"Valentina?" Her name still sounds foreign on my tongue having only have said it a handful of times.
She stands in the middle of a furnished apartment in a cream colored blazer dress with matching heels. Her white purse swings just like her brown hair when she turns at the sound of my voice.
A smile lights up her face. That pretty smile. "Theo, come in." A man stands beside her, he's dressed in a suit and holds a tablet, "this is Micheal, the owner of the building he'll be your landlord if you decide to sign."
I send him a tight smile with a curt nod as I shake his hand. I give Valentina a softer smile as I shake her hand and follow them further into the penthouse.
"We have some refreshments on the kitchen island if you'll like some." She says motioning over to the kitchen where there's mini water bottles. I thank her and grab one for myself as the landlord starts talking about the lease.
He states all the terms for me. He goes over rent liability, serverability clause, disturbance clause and so on till we go over the entire thing.
"Would you like a tour?" Valentina turns to me with a smile as Michael goes to grab the rest of the paperwork needed to be signed.
"Yes," I look around the place, it's easy enough to know where everything is but I'd be a fool to decline. "Please."
Seeing the happy gleam in her eyes is exactly why I agreed. She tells me to follow her and walks down a hall. "At the end of this hall," she points to a door at the far end, "there's a guess bedroom." We walk In together seeing the spacious room.
Seeing how big each room in this penthouse is makes the amount I'll be paying per month way worth my while. "It's beautiful." I nod looking around seeing big windows that over look the city.
"Yeah." She sighs. "This is truly one of the best buildings to rent in. Just wait till you see the master bedroom, it's better."
"Yeah?" I look at her over my shoulder, "show me."
The master bedroom like the guess room is in the hallway but this one at the opposite side. My jaw nearly drops seeing the floor to ceiling windows. Way bigger than the ones in the other room. A king bed with a white cushioned headboard is on a rounded platform. A chest sits at the end of the bed and matching seats and a couch are at the other end of the room.
Valentina shows me the button to close the blinds making the entire room go dark. "I'd love this." She murmurs into to darkness.
"Why's that?" I ask pushing the button again to see her face. The room slowly lights up revealing her face to me. It's a no-brainer that Valentina is pretty. She's possibly the most beautiful person I've seen. Her big brown eyes paired with that smile of hers is one of the loveliest sights I've had the pleasure of seeing.
She lets out an airy laugh before answering. "I can't sleep with any light. Ever since I was little, I'd only sleep in the complete dark. It's partly why I'm up as soon as the sun is. As soon as sunlight seeps through my blinds I can't go back to bed."
Brian has a similar problem to this. He's big on sleeping in but hates sunlight. Don't get me wrong he'll still sleep like the dead when there's light but he doesn't enjoy it, so he invested in backout curtains."I have a friend who uses blackout curtains. He said they black out all the light, you should try them maybe you'll get to sleep in."
I watch as her lips slightly part, a look of bewilderment flashes across her face. "I've never thought of that. Thank you Theo, I'll be getting those soon."
