Chapter 16: 2 years later (+ a surprise visit)

(2 years later)

It's been exactly 2 years since my trial and exactly 24 months since I've been sent to prison. So forth, everything is been going exactly as planned but there have been a few complications recently since my prison stay.

Waking up is a bad thing now these days but I'm used to times like it. My bed back in the apartment was ten times terrible than a prison bed as it gave me far worse back pain than anything else hard.

And the alarm is very loud, everyday, that alarm or PA system would ring all the time which I should get used to but I cringe a lot hearing it. And assemblies are usually called in the first day of the month which are to discuss some important issues but recently they keep talking about prison transfers and new rules in the prison.

As if prison wasn't enough to make us worse.

Speaking of transfers, we've been getting a lot of inmates in recent years following my two year stay. At least 1,900 new people and inmates as well as 500 new guards which doesn't make it that bad. Some of the new guards are easy to bribe and they stay quiet about stuff.

The last fight we had was at the basketball center and the guards didn't even get us to stop. But in the end, the inmates were only punching their feelings out, they hugged each other in the end. Although, the warden wasn't happy with them and so sent them to kitchen duty.

And as the new leader of the inmates, I'm in charging of the new welcome ceremony which accepts all prisoners in the prison, new guys and old guys alike. This has given me a lot of recognition by both the warden and the inmates although the warden is still mad at me for the fight that I took responsibility for.

It was already two years and he still has the same attitude towards me. Can't blame him entirely.

Mr Jaguar has a ton of respect for me as well, even his own crew also follows me till the end and many gangs who were rivals to Jaguar also respect me as well. I'm getting fanboys and fan girls by the minute.

As included in prison inmates, some of them also happened to be my old friends and people who were at the trial trying to get me out of my prison sentence including Elizabeth, my old friend from school. Recently, she was arrested trying to rob a bank to get money to pay for my release because her father wasn't as supportive to her and also her mother was a jerk.

I was glad she wanted to that for me but I was also a little upset that she had to suffer the consequences. In the end, we became a good couple and in a few months, we became husband and wife in the prison.

While our marriage ceremony wasn't as perfect or up to standards, we did give each other stolen gold rings and we became a good couple together. I think I could say that marrying Elizabeth was the best thing I ever did in my life.

But while one good thing came out, it's easy to say that I would be glad to get out of prison as many other people wanted to. At first, the prison was quite warmly but in recent times, things have gotten stricter and stricter. Not even the warden is as friendly as he was on my first day but he does get a little better from time to time.

And prison food as you can expect is something that just feels like school food. Very bland and not as fresh as grocery food or your mom's food. Plus the flavor is not as good and we always avoid the spicy food because while the flavor is bland, the spice can hurt you the next day. I still remember eating the tacos and paying for it the next day.

And drinking water is also worse since there is a lot of gunk and germs in there even though the warden said they would clean it soon enough and yet I don't see a cleaning crew of some kind.

Just feels like prison makes you into something not worth living or as if you don't deserve to be alive.

We often would get some relaxation but since all the fights have been going, we mostly get punished from time to time because of them. Even if we weren't a part of the fight, you could still get punished for encouraging it or even making it worse. And punishments include cleaning bathrooms and even making food which may sound not too bad but actually it really is.
