The village that was found by our recon drones was the old first settlement that was thought to have been abandoned many years ago before the modernization era. It was the first ever settlement on Peace Island territory, some consider it to be the original capital city even though there were no other settlements during this time period.
The only records of it in the Peace Island historical archives was that it was used as an outpost for the freedom fighters during the war for Independence many years ago, the war that my grandfather fought in.
The person who owned the entire village was said to have been an old friend of the king and therefore, he had ties to the Royal Family which he could use to help them in their fight against my forces. If this secret village was to be used as a staging ground, the Royal Family would use it to counterattack.
So we eventually forged a plan to capture this village and hopefully the royal family and sent our mighty armies to head out. These included some of the most elite groups in our military at the time like the 7th infantry and the 66th Armored Corps as well as the newly formed 12th Hunting Squadron which was made of 140 new Hunter Bots that had started to come out of production.
As we got closer to the village, we were ready to attack them with everything we had in our arsenal but unfortunately, I miscalculated. Yes shocking. I, Michael P Worthy, had miscalculated this attempt to capture my worst enemy.
When the troops marched towards the outskirts of the village. A local scout managed to spot us and reported back to his superiors and this in turn caused a lot of problems which informed the entire surrounding defense forces around the village. At least 1 Royal Guard unit which also had some Special Forces soldiers and some of the newly trained Peace Island Militia which was formed from the Royal Guard as a new military branch who were able to fight twice as hard.
While it was considered as a militia. It was better equipped and well prepared than any militia much less like the Royal Militia that fought us and the resistance movement that was fighting underground. It had some weapons and equipment given to them by the UN in order to counter our forces which wasn't that big of a surprise but a disappointment nonetheless.
Of course, me having a big ego and wanting to eradicate Knight for good wasn't a great combination especially since I did not have much experience in military or combat training nor was I able to lead an army for a big battle up until this moment.
But I didn't care, killing Knight once and for all was all I cared about, but now that I think about it, I regret that moment all the time, I'm just lucky that my army was still loyal to me even after that day, just not as trusting as they used to be.
Upon arriving at the village, we were ambushed by their forces within the perimeter, of course, the losses weren't as serious at the time, just only 20 people. But as we got closer, the battle was about to begin.
After clearing the perimeter of any militias that we found, we laid siege to the village using what weapons we had such as super cannons and armored war tanks.
