"Aunty..aunty" Rahul rushed downstairs looking for mom.
"Slow down Rahul what's the rush." mom answered walking near him.
"I got a strange dream aunty." He continued.
"Donot tell me that it was about you and pravi being in relationship or worse married"i countered.
"Hey!!what's wrong with pravi and i being married.You are jealous that i would get myself a partner " he gave an excuse.
"Siddhu stop teasing him.Rahul what is it about "
"I got a dream that he married some foreign lady when he went on duty.And you are not happy with it aunty." I looked at him in disbelief.Mom turned to me making me conscious.
"I would never do that.You know me right"i immediately rushed to hug mom.I can imagine how much fun this villian is getting from cornering me.
"I know my son." Mom defended me. "Who knows aunty" he shrugged gulping my mango juice. If looks can kill he would be dead by now.
"What do you suggest then" abhi (Siddharth's elder sister) interrupted.
"I sincerely and seriously suggest you to search for a bride for him.Or else.." he started eating without completing it.
"We should mom.He is in his late twenties.It's time he got married " abhi supported him.
"Do you have someone you like chotu" mom asked me.My mind drifted to sridevi no she is noway connected to me.
"No mom"
"Shall I look for a bride now..or do you want time"
"I donot know."
"Let me know when you are clear about it." Mom said gently.
"And you should also." Mom suggested Rahul.
"I will marry the minute she agrees" Rahul chirped.I smiled at his unwavering love for pravi.I cannot say if he will be the best man she could get but I can guarantee that he will be the best lover and husband.Of course I too am a gentleman.
I went to my room only to see Rahul rolling over my bed seriously engrossed in chatting.
"I will try my best" I read out loud the line he is typing.
"Who?What?" I asked him forwarding to get the hold of mobile.
"First swear that you will not throw your hands at me" after a calculative pause I nodded.
"You know siya..."while i am processing he continued"the girl we met at theatre " He stopped.
I nodded at him ensuring him that I knew.
"She is interested in you" he said it slowly.
"Hmm?" I let out a expression of confusion.
"Interested as in being in relationship" He said carefully staring right into my face.
"So?" I asked hinting him to continue.
"She is asking actually pestering me to set a date with you" he said all in one breath.
"What!! Siya and me..no way that is going to happen.We are not suitable."i retoriated.
"How do you know when you did not even exchanged few sentences.Hence As your best friend and the first person who wants to dance at your baraat, i suggest you to meet her and then decide." He dramatically explained and therefore trapped me into a date with siya.It felt right for me too.
So now I am on the way to the cafe siya messaged me to come.
"Hey sid" she excitedly reached out to me and hugged.we took our seats.
"What would you like to have?" I asked her like a gentleman.
"Actually I am pretty excited about this so i came half an hour early and had two espresso in the time" she said scratching her neck with embarrassment while explaining.I chose not to say anything to not make her uncomfortable.
We talked over lot of things recalled memories of our study life.I realised she is not that bad though.She is bold and opinionated.Kind of the woman I desired for a few years earlier.after discussing over a bunch of things,I finally asked her.
"So how do you want this day to go siya" I left the decision to her.
"It's quarter to eleven already so let's start with lunch." Lunch at quarter to eleven!
"The fact is I have a few things to shop so let's go shopping and then have lunch.Is that okay" god i hate shopping with women.They need all the time in the world to shop.No escape today.
"Sounds good.Shall we move then" She moved taking her belongings.
We arrived at the mall and she took me straight to the cloth store.She proceeded to buy what she wants and i started to look around the outfits displayed on mannequins.My eyes halted at gorgeous outfit a lehenga to be precise.It is beautiful yet simple.The peach color is subtle and intricate work on it enhanced the beauty of color.
"It is gorgeous isn't it?" I hummed at the question siya imposed.
"It will look great on me,won't it?" She asked.
"Sri would look gorgeous.Infact the color compliments her." I donot know how the words slipped out.It is truth though.
She bought few things and then we proceeded for lunch.She ordered her picks and gave me the menu.I ordered and we are in silence with few sentences exchanged in between.
And she took me to the aquarium where you can have experience of diving.And the creatures are must watch.Such nice place to go on date.I could not help but express my surprise at everything.Siya remained calm because she visited already.Sri would have certainly enjoyed it.I should bring her sometime.
The day went well and the date came to end with the realisation that siya is one desirable woman but not the one for me.
"Thank you for the time Siddharth" Siddharth! She always called me sid while I was thinking, she continued " I have always liked you even when we were in college.Because you are everything a girl wish for.But today i realised that we are not meant for each other.We are two distant stars who are not bound to meet.I am not sad.However disappointed that this gentleman will not be mine.Nevertheless I am happy that you already have someone you love.."
"Wait someone I love!!" I exclaimed
"Donot you love sridevi?Comeon sid you can tell me this.I will keep it a secret."
"No siya..not really" I tried to clear her misconception.
"Who would include some colleague's sister when talking about family.Who would say that she will look gorgeous in an outfit if not he love her." I stood still deciphering
"If not love you are definitely interested in her sid.She seemed to be beautiful being.You guys look good together." She said and went away.
Is it real that I love her.I am well known that I am attracted to her.But love!!! The question repeated again. ************************** Well the next chapter gonna be hella intersting.Therefore stay tuned.
