Chapter 13

It was their second-to-last day in Japan, and Y/N and Taehyung had ventured out of Kyoto for a day trip to Nara, a city known for its ancient temples, friendly deer, and serene landscapes. They had spent the day wandering through the historic sites, feeding the deer that roamed freely through the parks, and marveling at the beauty of Todai-ji, the giant Buddha statue housed in a vast wooden temple.

But it was an unplanned detour that led them to a place where their journey would take a life-changing turn.

As they walked back toward the train station in the late afternoon, Y/N noticed a small path leading off the main road, partially hidden by overgrown trees and shrubs. Intrigued, she tugged at Taehyung's hand, her curiosity piqued.

"Let's see where this goes," she suggested, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Taehyung chuckled, always up for an adventure. "Lead the way."

The path wound through a quiet, wooded area, the trees gradually giving way to an open clearing. As they stepped into the clearing, Y/N gasped, her breath catching in her throat. Before them lay a hidden grove of cherry trees, their delicate blossoms in full bloom, despite the season. The petals fluttered gently in the breeze, creating a soft pink carpet on the ground.

It was as if they had stumbled upon a secret, untouched part of the world, a place of pure magic. The late afternoon sunlight filtered through the branches, casting a warm, golden glow over the entire scene.

Taehyung stood beside Y/N, equally awestruck by the beauty of the place. It was quiet, with only the soft rustling of the leaves and the distant chirping of birds to break the silence. He couldn't believe their luck in finding such a perfect, serene spot—one that felt like it was meant for them alone.

Y/N turned to him, her eyes shining with wonder. "Taehyung, this place... it's incredible. It's like something out of a dream."

Taehyung nodded, his heart pounding in his chest as he looked at her. He had been carrying something with him throughout the trip, waiting for the right moment, and now, standing in this beautiful grove, he knew that moment had finally arrived.

As Y/N wandered closer to one of the cherry trees, marveling at the blossoms, Taehyung reached into his pocket, his fingers closing around the small velvet box he had been carrying. His heart raced with a mix of nervousness and excitement, but the sight of Y/N, her face lit up with joy, gave him the courage he needed.

Slowly, he walked over to her, taking her hand in his and gently turning her to face him. Y/N looked up at him, her expression curious as she sensed the sudden shift in his demeanor.

"Y/N," Taehyung began, his voice soft but steady, "I've been thinking about this moment for a long time, and I wanted it to be perfect. I didn't know when or where it would happen, but now, standing here with you, I know this is exactly where it was meant to be."

Y/N's eyes widened slightly, her heart skipping a beat as she realized what was happening. She looked into Taehyung's eyes, seeing the depth of emotion there, and felt her own heart swell with love.

Taehyung took a deep breath, then slowly lowered himself to one knee, still holding her hand. He looked up at her, the sunlight filtering through the cherry blossoms above, casting a soft glow over her face.

"Y/N," he continued, his voice filled with sincerity, "from the moment I met you, my life has been richer, fuller, and more meaningful than I ever could have imagined. We've been through so much together, and through it all, my love for you has only grown stronger. You've shown me what it means to truly love and be loved, and I can't imagine my life without you in it."

He paused, taking the ring from his pocket and holding it out to her. It was a simple yet elegant ring, a single diamond set in a delicate band—perfectly suited to Y/N's taste.

"Y/N," Taehyung said, his voice trembling slightly with emotion, "will you marry me? Will you be my partner, my love, and my best friend for the rest of our lives?"

For a moment, the world seemed to stand still as Y/N looked down at Taehyung, her eyes brimming with tears of joy. The love she felt for him was overwhelming, filling her entire being as she realized just how deeply he cared for her.

With a soft, tearful laugh, Y/N nodded, her voice choked with emotion. "Yes, Taehyung, of course, I will. I love you so much."

Taehyung's face lit up with a radiant smile as he slipped the ring onto her finger, the perfect fit sealing their promise to each other. He rose to his feet, pulling Y/N into a tight embrace, both of them laughing and crying at the same time as they held each other close.

Y/N pulled back slightly, looking up at Taehyung with a beaming smile. "I can't believe this is happening. It's so perfect, Taehyung."

Taehyung gently wiped away her tears, his own eyes shining with happiness. "I wanted it to be special, just like you. And now, we have a beautiful memory to carry with us for the rest of our lives." Shared a passionate kiss they stood there for a long moment, wrapped in each other's arms, surrounded by the beauty of the cherry blossoms.

 It was a moment they would cherish forever a moment that marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.

As the sun began to set, casting a warm orange hue over the grove, Y/N and Taehyung finally made their way back to the main path, still in awe of what had just happened. They held hands, walking in comfortable silence, both lost in their thoughts about the future they would now face together.

Back in Nara, they found a small, cozy restaurant where they could celebrate their engagement. The atmosphere was intimate, with soft lighting and traditional Japanese decor that added to the magic of the evening.

As they sat across from each other, toasting to their future with glasses of sake, Y/N couldn't help but feel like she was living in a dream. The love she felt for Taehyung was overwhelming, and she knew, without a doubt, that saying yes to him was the best decision she had ever made.

Taehyung watched her with a soft smile, his heart full of love and gratitude. "You make me so happy, Y/N," he said quietly, reaching across the table to take her hand. "I can't wait to start this new chapter of our lives together."

Y/N squeezed his hand, her eyes sparkling with happiness. "Neither can I. I know it won't always be easy, but as long as we're together, I believe we can overcome anything."

They spent the rest of the evening talking about their future where they wanted to live, the adventures they wanted to go on, and the life they wanted to build together. It was a conversation filled with hope and excitement, a glimpse into the beautiful journey that lay ahead of them.

As they walked back to their hotel, the streets of Nara quiet and peaceful under the night sky, Y/N leaned into Taehyung, feeling a deep sense of contentment. The ring on her finger was a constant reminder of the love they shared, a love that had grown stronger with each challenge they had faced.

When they reached their room, Taehyung pulled Y/N close, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. "I love you, Y/N," he whispered, his voice filled with emotion.

Y/N looked up at him, her heart swelling with love. "I love you too, Taehyung. More than words can say."
