Bullet POV
Sitting in on the meeting with Kai, Brynn, and Becca, was, frankly, exhausting. There's so much to do to make sure that this scumbag isn't around his kid alone, but the fact that he's from a wealthy family is going to make it harder. They have money to fight it. To take it back to court whenever. And it's not like Kai and could be in court just for this case all the time. He has to make a living too. She has done the hard part already. Getting a job and leaving.
She took that first step. Which I know Becca is happy about. She's happy her friend is leaving a shit-uation. That's what I'm calling a shitty-situation from now on. Like this woman had to pick and choose what she would take with her if she had to run in the middle of the night from this man. She had to pick and choose what was most important to her and Quinn and put it in a bag to leave with. That's all she was going to leave with too, if she needed. I guess when you're in that shit-uation and need a way out, you do what you have to do.
Now that that's taken care of, I need to focus on getting Becca back. I've already been showing up every day. Making sure that my girls have everything they need. Picking up Grey from daycare and making sure Becca has a healthy lunch and dinner. I even started picking up little desserts for them to have afterward. And I make sure I get enough for the Moons also. I've sent flowers also. I don't know what else to do. I'm still waiting to hear if she wants to keep the house or not. I've been putting feelers out there though, and there are two guys who want to buy. Hacker, because he's pretty sure that this girl is it for him. He's going to be going down to visit her this weekend, again. Either she and her son fly out to see him, or he's flying out to see her. She's got a kid who's a little older than Bear, but they are still able to get along well. Hacker and her kid, Ryder, get along really well too. I think it's because he keeps it as close to 100 with him as he can. She gets along well with all the old ladies.
I might sell it to him. There's another guy, a prospect looking to buy, but he'd have to be approved for a loan and Hacker has cash. I know he can make the offer and pony everything up right away. The prospect would need to be approved by the bank. He hasn't even asked how much I'm selling for, just that he can get the money. Weird. I gotta remember to check in on him.
What else can I do? I tell her everything, I share my location. She has all my passwords and logins to everything. I even gave her my tablet that's linked to my phone. I don't know what else I can do to prove to her that I'm in love with her and only her. And Grey. But that's because my little girl is just as beautiful as her mama. She's got her mama's beautiful blonde hair, and my gray eyes. She's all pudgy and has these little wrist wrinkles that are so fucking cute! They look like little bracelets on her all the time. And she's got those chunky thighs!
I swear if I was a woman, this wouldn't sound so weird. But I love how chunky she is, because it lets me know she's still kind of a baby. She hasn't fully stretched out like a kid after a growth spurt. I swear that she's already growing too fast. Her second birthday is coming up too fast. Only four-ish months with it being July already. How was it July?!
After spending the day with Grey, I decided to sell. I reached out to Prez to find another empty plot on the compound, or if there was a house that could stand to be torn down and rebuilt. I was going to build a new house. Even if it's just for my girls. I want them to be able to have happy memories in a place where there's nothing having been tainted by the past.
I sat down with a friend of mine to start designing. I wanted it to be three bedrooms, with an office on the first floor. She could turn it into a playroom or whatever for Grey if she wanted. Or make the third bedroom a play room, or office or whatever. I wanted a pretty open concept so she could keep an eye on Grey from anywhere. I wanted a balcony off of Becca's room. But it needed to be covered with a little overhang on the roof so that she could sit out there and listen to thunderstorms. She loved the storms and sitting outside to listen to them. She was absolutely beautiful in everything she did. Happy, sad, mad, frustrated, naked, amazing. In every aspect of her life. I honestly think that her being a mother is the best phase of her life she's been in so far.
