Cameron POV

One year later...

Things certainly were different with two kids, versus one. Hayes came into this world screaming and I swear he was side-eyeing everyone in that room. He has been a loud, rambunctious baby. I know he's only a few months old, but I just have this feeling that he's going to be a hell-raiser.

Like me when I was a kid.

I felt the gray hairs coming already.

Becca and I were great. We talked and continued with therapy. We thought it would best for us to be able to have somewhere and someone to talk to about big things we wanted to talk about, but needed help figuring out how to talk about certain shit.

She was amazing. She was breastfeeding our boy like a fucking champ! I mean...wow. Who knew a woman could do all that she did? Her body grew him, then brought him safely into this world, and was now giving him nourishment. Call me pussy whipped, call me a bitch, whatever.

I'm gone for my wife and in total awe of all that she can do. She's far too good for me, and I'm just happy she hasn't caught on yet. Tonight was our first anniversary, and I wanted to take her somewhere special. River was staying at our house to watch the kids for us. I was taking her for a ride, and a picnic so we could get home shortly after bedtime so Kai and Parker could get a night out too. River was the grandfather of everyone in this club. But he loved it, and so did we. Our kids had a grandparent.

I had just finished packing the picnic basket when Becca came into the kitchen and immediately ran out to the guest bath where I heard her retching.

Shit.

"Babe? Are you sick? Do you need anything?" She didn't say anything, just handed me a plastic stick.

I turned it over, and it was a pregnancy test.

With two lines on it.

Wait.

"No fucking way! They told us it would be impossible. They said we got lucky with Hayes."

She rinsed her mouth out with water, while I was mid-freak out. How? When? How far along? When is she due? Oh god. We're going to have a first birthday and a birth back-to-back.

Oh fuck.

"Do you still want to go out?"

"Can we just order Chinese and pickles? Maybe do movie night on the back patio?"

"Anything you want." I kissed her heart and went to call River. I heard a phone ringing and whirled around to River. He smiled at me as he had Grey in his arms.

"Granpa's here. You go now. Bye, Daddy!"

Confused I looked at her, then River. "I've never been dismissed so quickly before." He chuckled.

"So, um," I scratched the back of my head, "We're going to be staying in tonight, but on the back patio for dinner and a movie."

"Oh? No ride and picnic?"

I just handed him the pregnancy test and then we heard feet smacking on the floor and more retching.

"Cameron!"

"Getting rid of the basket. Promise baby!"

"We'll take that. I'll take her if you guys want to keep Hayes close. He'll be pretty easy and I'll keep her overnight. I'll just take her back to Kai's so we can play."

Grey got excited about that. "Play with Brody?!" He nodded and she squealed.

"I'll pack a bag for her. Give me a few." I ran upstairs and tossed in all her favorites and a few changes of clothes and undies.

The basket was nowhere in sight when I came back downstairs and handed River Grey's overnight bag. He nodded and took Grey's hand. I went to check on Becca in the bathroom after peeking at Hayes, sleeping on his playmat with all the shit dangling from it.

This was an amazing life.

I wouldn't trade this for the world.

Thank fuck she forgave me. I would have been miserable without them.
