"I'm going to KILL YOU! YOU FAKER!" - So

Yelled the blue hedgehog before we ran towards him in the attempt of an attack. Shadow glided to the side with his airshoes, dodging it. He raised his hand up lightly in the air, infront of himself, gesturing for him to calm down.

"Sonic, wait-" - Sh

"You already lost your friends once! You know how it feels!" - So

The blue hedgehog yelled before rushing for the boy again, reaching for his neck with two hands, the closer he got. Shadow with excellent timing though places his palm against the other's, intertwining their fingers while the blue hedgehog leaned in and tried to push the other's hand back, the black hedgehog trying to prevent him from doing so as he frowned.

"You really think... If I lose everyone once, It wouldn't hurt the second time?!" - Sh

"No! But atleast you can handle being alone! I cannot!" - So

The blue hedgehog's voice cracked as he spoke, small tears forming in his eyes once again, throwing Shadow off guard as he looked at his troubled rival. Sonic pulled his hands away as he backed up with two back handsprings, wiping away his tears as he spoke quietly.

"In the other hand, I would lose my mind if I'd be left alone for a long time. Borderline personality disorder is a pain." - So

"Sonic.." - Sh

The black hedgehog began to reach out but Sonic looked up at him for a moment before running towards him again, furious. Right infront of him he made a turn to the left and got around the black hedgehog just to take him in a chokehold from behind. Shadow struggling grabbed the blue hedgehog's arm, trying to pull it away from his neck.

"You're... not alone..." - Sh

He said amidst struggling. Sonic whispered behind him with a quivering voice.

"Why? Do you see any of my friends? Cause I for sure don't." - So

Sonic with that bent his knee, pressing Shadow's politeal, causing him to fall out of balance as he let go of his neck, letting him fall forwards on the ground as he was coughing, trying to regain his breath. The blue hedgehog's eyes were glowing with anger as he looked down at the red eyed struggling infront of him, trying to catch his breath.

"You still know me... Don't you? So you're not alone entirely." - Sh

Shadow said after he turned around to face him again, sitting on the ground as he looked up at him. His expression was stoic but his eyes triggered something in Sonic, causing tears to roll down his cheeks as he looked at the other.

"You are my rival. Not my friend. You made it pretty clear yourself." - So

Sonic wiped his tears and lifted his legs, preparing to kick the other.

"Sonic, don't-" - Sh

Shadow yelled. The blue hedgehog responded with a kick aimed at his chest, though he rolled out of the way just in time, landing on his feet, standing up. Only the sand emerging from the ground, slowly settling down again around the two of them.

"And I'm especially not going to be your friend after what you did!-" - So

Shadow grit his teeth as he began walking to the blue hedgehog who seemed to have lost his mind. He just stood infront of him and with a swing of his right hand, he slapped the blue hedgehog.

"Snap out of it! This is not what I know you for!" - Sh

Sonic's left eyemuscles began twitching as he slowly turned back to the black hedgehog. Shadow with a neutral expression just looked into the other's eye as the blue hedgehog reached up to place his hand on his own cheek, just where the other have hit him earlier.

"How dare yo-" - So

"You do realise this won't take us anywhere, right?" - Sh

Shadow said, quoting Sonic from the last time they fought.

"No matter how much I hate talking this way... But you have only me, and I have only you now. If one of us kills the other, we would have no one for real this time." - Sh

Sonic looked down and suddenly fell on his knees, tears filling his eyes again as he lifted his trembling hands, placing them on his face as he began crying helplessly.

"I just... miss them. A lot." - So

He spoke mid sobbing. Shadow let out a sigh and squatted down infront of the blue hedgehog, just looking at him with a stoic expression.

"Amy... Just wanted to confess her love to me the day before... but I was too scared to reject her face to face so I ran away..." - So

Shadow didn't say a word but just sat down, crossed his legs as he leaned forward, placed his elbow on his thigh, his head on his hand and just listened to the blue hedgehog.

"I just regret it now... I just... miss them all. I'm sorry.. just give me a minute..." - So

Sonic spoke while struggling with sobbing before entirely giving up on speaking to begin with. He grit his teeth as he just kept wiping away his tears, trying to calm down. At some point he started hyperventilating which didn't go unnoticed by Shadow. He raised his head and slid forward, placing his arms around him slowly, putting them right under his back quills, placing his head next to the other's. Sonic slowly lifted his head, his hyperventilation not seeming to seize one bit but surprise evident on his face as he looked at the black hedgehog from the corner of his eyes.

"Take deep breaths and try to calm down." - Sh

Shadow said with a quite calm and soothing tone of voice, not the usual agressive one he always has. Sonic slowly slid his arms around Shadow aswell, pulling him into a tighter hug as he tried to calm down. Shadow just stayed still, not moving an inch, unknowing on what he should do. Once Sonic calmed down they carefully let go of eachother as Sonic smiled cockily at Shadow.

"Didn't know you were a hugger." - So

Shadow's neutral expression slowly turned into one filled with annoyance.

"You were breathing too fast. Someone had to help you calm down somehow." - Sh

He rolled his eyes as he spoke. He took a slow glance back at the slowly extinguishing fire and got up, walking to the fire.

"Thank you." - So

Sonic said with a light smile, looking at the black hedgehog.

"We will never talk about this again." - Sh

Said Shadow, refusing to face the black hedgehog as he walked to the small campfire. He stepped on it a few times, crunching the black sticks as he extinguished the fire for good.
