The blue hedgehog's feet trampled against the ground with high velocity, some leaves of the bushes tearing off as he made his way to the castle yard. He looked around and immediately spotted the red echidna sitting on a bench, with a knight armor on. Sonic didn't expect that Knuckles who helped him get dressed not long ago was also a knight, and if that's not enough, his personal trainer!

"Knuckles?! You're also a Knight?" - S

The blue rodent said as he walked up to him. He in response got up and bowed respectfully.

"I'm Gawain, your highness. Not "Knuckles"." - K

"Right. Sorry. Are you my trainer then?" - S

"Always has been." - K

With that he grabbed the sword that layed next to him on the bench and lifted it up to the prince. The blue hedgehog took it with a grin, threw his red cape on the bench before walking out in the open area, trying to find a stance that works with the sword. Knuckles just let out a sigh of annoyance as he looked at the blue hedgehog.

"Raise your sword higher and have a more relaxed stance or your enemy could easily end you." - K

Sonic followed the suggestions. With a simple taunt by Knuckles, the blue hedgehog launched himself at the red echidna, attacking from above as he supported the other end of his blade by his other hand. The red echidna with a strong swing of his sword, threw the blue hedgehog back into the air, launching him to a nearby tree. The blue hedgehog spinned his sword, grabbing it's two seperate ends as he held onto it as he hung from a branch, the sword's edges not touching them one bit.

The blue hedgehog placed his red shoes soles to the trunk of the tree, launching himself at the red echidna again. But when he saw that he already prepared to do the same move again, he suddenly focused all his force into landing on the ground faster right infront of the armored echidna with elegance, swinging his sword in a big arc. If Knuckles wouldn't have jumped back in time, he could have caused serious trouble for him.

Sonic felt eyes watching him. He didn't knew where from and nor did he have the time to look around and find out. Knuckles swung his word at the blue hedgehog, him running away, dodging the attempt of the attack.

He thought he could show off a bit since he got an audience. He ran up a nearby tree and jumped away from it's leaves, spinning once in the air elegantly before landing behind the red echidna. He was caught offguard by the sudden acrobatic movement coming from the blue rodent, so he turned around slightly surprised and just when he did, the blue hedgehog took his oportunity to knock his trainer's sword out of his hand with his own with a twirl of his wrist.

The red echidna nodded in acknowledgement of the blue hedgehog's abilities. Sonic was quite surprised too at his own abilities. He never knew he had a talent for this sort of thing.

The emerald green eyes of the victorious has scanned the place around him to search for the eyes that were on them. But all he saw is a group of knights marching from one tower to the other. The red echidna and the blue hedgehog kept training, the blue seeming to be quite good at this sword training thing. First minutes, then hours passed by without them even noticing.

Some footsteps could be heard against the stone pavement, getting closer and closer. Sonic and Knuckles simultaneously turned their heads to the source of the sound. Cream and Cheese got closer and closer, bowing as she spoke.

"Your highness, your training is over. It is time for you to head to the throne room." - C

Sonic swiped the sweat off his forehead with the back of his arm, nodding. He placed the sword against the bench, grabbed his cape and put it on as he walked back inside the castle. Before entering, Cream sprayed one more batch of cologne on him, the smell of fresh lavender.

With that he entered the throne room, about eight ladies standing around. He walked past them and walked up to his father and mother, standing between the two thrones.

"Alright! Let's begin!" - J

The king yelled out and clapped his hands, silencing any chatter in the room, the eight girls lining up. Each of them introduced themselves. Some were princesses, some were the daughters of the richest of the richest landlords in the kingdom. Some were tall, some were short. But still none of them stood out to the blue hedgehog. They weren't anyone he knew. But all of the sudden the throne room's tall doors slammed open, a pink hedgehog in blue dress stepping inside.

"I greatly apologize for being late! I'm Nimue, Princess of Skyedia." - A

It was Amy. Sonic's eyes widened as she walked up to the group of girls and bowed in front of the royal family. The blue hedgehog took a deep breath and massaged his eye ridges with his fingers. He felt a bit of pain in his heart due to remembering all the times she tried to confess but be ran away, he sighed.

"How much time do I have to give an awnser?" - S

"The afternoon." - B

Said his mother. To that he just simple nodded and walked out the door. But this behaviour of his was rather rude in everybody else's eyes, other than his own. He was sad about some memories flowing back in, but the others didn't know this.

He took a stroll around the yard and took a walk around the castle, getting used to the surroundings. Outside he picked up a white flower and looked at it in bloom. Not caring for the delicate flora he grabbed a petal and torn them off one by one, playing a game in his mind. "Will we find a way back home" and "We won't find a way back home" questions circulating his mind with each petal falling to the ground. The last white petal was torn with the awnser being: "We will find a way home." This gave him hope, hope for a way to return safely to the place he called home.

He dropped the petalless flora on the ground, the awnser to his choice for a future wife to live and rule with, already clear in his mind.
