I woke up around 9, Max still asleep so I head to take a quick shower. Stopping to look at myself in the mirror, the bruises are the same colour as the day before. I get out and put on some shorts and crop top. I grab my phone and head downstairs. My parents are on the porch drinking their coffee as usual. I grab some fruit and head out back to the patio swing. Calling the group chat. Skyler is the first one to answer. "Annalise! Long time no see. Woah. Katelyn was right, he did attack you." I was about to say something when Jasmine and Nevaeh join. "Good morning y'all. It is a wonderful day to go on a walk at the traaaiiil" Jasmine says trying to convince us. "Doesn't sound too bad. Skyler, where's Katelyn?" I say noticing she's the only one not there. "She's just in the bathroom, she'll be out in a minute. Oh, here she comes now." "Good morning ladies. Did I hear a walk at the trail?" "Yes. Meet there in an hour?" Nevaeh said. We all agreed and hung up.

I sat there for five minutes before I heard the patio door open and close. I turn to see Max walking towards me. "Goodnight sleepy head." "Good morning princess." Causing me to blush. "So today. Plans are to go walking a trail with my friends. Are you okay with that? Also they have no idea you're here." I say hoping he won't shut down the idea. "Yeah that seems interesting." He says while grabbing some of my fruit. We go inside to get ready, the trail being twenty minutes away so we'd have to leave soon. I pack a bag with some granola bars, waters, sunscreen and bug spray. We head out the front door, saying goodbye to my parents. Stopping at a gas station for some drinks. "So they won't be like. Weird or anything. Right?" Max says while opening a Gatorade. "They shouldn't be. They weren't like crazy fans when they saw me on your streams. Or the whole week." I say taking a sip of an energy drink. "Okay good. I want them to like me for a person rather than their favourite streamer." "Max, you'll be fine. I promise. And if you don't want to keep walking, or you don't like the vibe, we'll leave. No questions asked. Alright?" He reaches over the centre console, kissing me. We drive to the trail, being the last ones to arrive, I park a bit farther from where the group is waiting for us.

We walk up to the group, staying behind the cars. I tell Max to stay behind a van, and walk up to the group. "Hello you beautiful people!" I give them all hugs. "Okay shall we get onto the trail? Did anyone bring bug spray?" Katelyn asked. "Katelyn, you know I always do. You guys have your relationships, I have the mom bag. Oh I also have something else." I say while grabbing the bug spray out of my bag, waving for Max to join us. He comes out from behind the van, causing the group to cheer. "No way!" Max introduces himself to everyone and we get on with the trail. Max ends up walking with Nevaeh and Jasmine, talking about some sort of sports, Katelyn behind them, and Skyler and I falling behind everyone. "So. I heard they arrested Jared.." he says making small talk. "Oh...good.." "Annalise, I hope you know that if I knew, I would've done exactly what he did only ten times worse to him." "I know Skyler. Max and I headed back to my house, going to my room to relax after waking the trail. "Max, you didn't have to come..you know..you could've stayed in Texas." He pulls me in and we start making out again. I pull away, smiling. "Come on. Pepperoni pizza. We barely ate all day. I bet you're starving from earlier." Winking at him. I say smiling, leaning in for a kiss, turning into us making out again. "My parents are still gone, wanna head down to the living room and play something on the switch?" I say while grabbing the pizza pan. "Yeah, sure. Wait is that my shirt?" He asked. "Max, you should be used to seeing me in your clothes by now. Especially now." I say smirking at him. "I'll be downstairs. Do what you need to do, I'll set up a game." I say while leaving the room.

I put on Mario party, grabbing a bag of chips from the pantry, and some waters from the fridge. Max comes down, in one of my oversized band shirts and sweat pants. "Oh so is this our thing? Swapping clothes?" I say while walking up to him, putting my arms around his neck. "I don't know, I don't feel like trying on a pair of tiny shirts though." He says laughing and hugging me. We sit down on the couch, starting the game. He picked Mario, while I chose princess peach. While playing we just talked randomly. "So is this your childhood home?" He asks while stuffing his mouth with popcorn. "Yeah, my parents wanted more kids that's why they got such a big house. But after having me they decided a small family is just as good as a big one." I say while losing coins to Bowser. "Do you miss living near your family?" I asked. "Yes and no. I miss being able to see them often, but my home in Texas is my own and I don't have to worry about anybody being in my space." He says. We kept playing, ultimately Max winning. "You cheated. I literally had the worst luck in the game, but you got the extra star for that. That's not fair!" I say "Listen it's not my fault you suck extra at Mario party." He says while laughing at me, pulling me in for a kiss. We hear my parents come home, so we start to clean up and then go to my room.

We lay in my bed, watching a random movie. "Only three more days of you being here, right?" I say while lying on his chest. "Yeah, and I would stay longer. But Sly is already going to give Droid a hard time, two weeks is too long to be away from her." He says playing with my hair. "I just hope my citizenship gets approved. Then we won't be away from each other much longer." "How long does it usually take to find out?" "My dad said around three to four weeks if we filled everything out correctly. One down, two to three to go." I say while shaking my hands in the air. "Well, if you need a place to stay while looking at apartments or anything, you know where I live." "Thank you, Max. I've already been searching online to get an idea of apartments there. I want to live somewhere secure cause I'll be on my own." "Well you don't need to rush finding a place. You can stay with me as long as you need. You can store whatever you want to bring with you in my garage. I'm sure the guys wouldn't mind helping you move whenever the day comes." I reach up and kiss him, turning into a make out session. "It's like two am. We should go to bed" I say while yawning. "What are you an amateur?" "No just someone who wants a normal sleep schedule." I say while laughing. We get ready for bed, falling asleep to the movie.
