Chapter 12 - I Want To Be With You

I just stared at my computer screen, it felt like I just sat there and stared for five hours. My mind racing at a 100 miles a minute. I hit join call once I realized that it wouldn't harm me to be there. "Yo! Where've you been!" Grizzy said as soon as I joined. "Oh uh something came up today. Sorry" "You sound different. Mic issue?" Droid asks. "Uh nope. I mean, I'm on my laptop so maybe it's the mic on my headphones?" I realized I haven't had anything to drink, so my voice is hoarse. I get a private message from Pezzy.

Pezzy: Have you been crying?

Annalise: Uhm yeah.. something happened today

Pezzy: You wanna talk about it?

Annalise: No, I'm fine

After goofing off with the guys for a bit, I felt relaxed. We decided to play a video game together. "Annalise, turn your camera on so we know you ain't cheating!" Puffer said. I thought about it, they'll find out eventually. And when they do they might be mad that I didn't tell them. But at the same time they're in a whole other country, they don't care... "Hello, earth to Annalise. Anyone home?" Pezzy says, getting my attention. "Uh hold on I'll move to my pc" I get up and sit at my desk, getting on to my pc. I hesitate for a minute, then join the call. The guys are arguing about something, while distracted I turn my camera on. Pezzy is the first one to stop talking, just staring at his screen. Droid is next, stopping mid sentence. The rest follow. "Are you okay?" Grizzy asks. "Everyone has been asking that...uhm no? But yes? Uhm I'm sorry, I might just get off actually" "No! Stay. You don't need to talk to us about it. I'm sure you've explained everything to so many people, tell us when you're ready. Play with us!" Rectrixx says without hesitation. "Uhm okay, yeah." I say while hopping into the game.

We play a couple rounds, everyone moving on. Every now and then I catch Pezzy staring at his screen, and when I stare at the camera he changes where he's looking. After a couple hours Puffer, Grizzy, Droid and Rectrixx get off to go to the gym. After they all left, it's awkward and silent. Neither Pezzy nor I talking first. "Why didn't you tell me?" He said so softly, it was instantly relaxing. "Because...you're in a whole other country..what would you do?" "I could fly and be there with you." "Max..." "I'm serious. I could catch a flight in a couple hours. Be there by sunrise, be with you. I wouldn't miss much here anyways." "As much as you and I would both love that, it won't take away what happened..." "And what did happen?" I sighed. "Someone I went to school with is obsessed with me...they showed up this morning to take me to breakfast after I ignored their text last night, and I went. On the way home, he was driving recklessly. He hit me..he hit my head against the window..he pushed my head into the dash..he grabbed at my arm..we stopped at a red light, and I just ran. We were in my friend's neighbourhood, I just ran to her house without thinking. Her mom answered the door thankfully. They brought me back and she talked to my parents. My dad already contacted the police, he's starting to get a restraining order against him for me." "I want to be with you. Let me spend a week with you." "Are
You sure? I mean. You have to stream and upload..you won't really be able to do that here..." "I want to be with you Annalise. I want to know you're safe. And I can't do that from Texas.. please" "Alright, Max. Come to Canada." I say smiling.

He immediately searches for the next flight that he could catch. It would take off from Texas in three hours, and take about 4 hours. So he'd be here, as soon as the sun comes up. He gets off to go pack, and make plans for Droid to watch Sly and to drive him to the airport. I get a message from Katelyn.

Katelyn: I heard what happened. I'm so sorry he did that to you Annalise.. Skyler and I are here for you. Do you want to spend tomorrow with us? We can just hangout and watch movies.

Annalise: Thanks Katelyn. I'm doing better. I'm actually busy tomorrow, but maybe the day after? Tell Skyler I miss him for me, I'll see you both soon.

I head to the bathroom to take an everything shower and get ready. If Pezzy was coming, I want everything to be clean and nice. I clean my room the best I can, after finishing I head downstairs to leave. My mom was awake, sitting at the kitchen table. "You can't sleep?" I say approaching from the dark stairway. "Oh geez, you scared me. No..I'm just worried about what happened." "I'm okay mom.. uhm I was wondering. Can I have a friend stay for the week?" "Who? One of the girls? Of course." "Uh actually. A guy. Uhm the guy I met in Texas..." she smiled at me. "Of course. I'll tell your father in the morning. He'll be fine with it, no funny business though." She says laughing. "Mom, I just had something traumatic happen. No funny business is going on. He wanted to come to make sure I'm okay, he says he misses me. Plus I'm sure the girls and Skyler will be jealous to meet him in person." I say blushing. "Okay okay I believe you. Are you headed somewhere?" "Yes actually. Pearson. He is just getting on his flight now. So if I leave now I'll arrive just before he lands. Love you." "Drive safe sweetie."
