𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐊 𝐖𝐀𝐒 about to close and I had just changed in the empty locker room. It had been a hard day and we still hadn't executed a perfect lift.

I appreciate Justin's understanding that it's hard for me to pair skate again but it had been weeks and I was afraid he would get sick of me.

"Mae," Dasha spoke up as she entered the locker room.

I rolled my eyes, already knowing what she was going to say, "I know Justin's frustrated with me, but every time I even think about being up in the air, I just freeze and," I trailed off.

"Mae," She tried again.

I cut her off with the question I'd been wanting to ask all along, "Is he gonna drop me?"

She sighed heavily, "Of course not. He's stronger than you think."

"Not just physically. What about as his partner?" I asked the question burning in my mind.

She sent me a reassuring smile, "He's not going anywhere. You two skate perfectly together. You need to go home and get some rest. You'll feel better in the morning,"

I smiled, "Thanks, Dasha."
