𝐖𝐄 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 ourselves back at the hotel after leaving the diner. I followed Justin over to the bar, "What are we gonna tell Dasha?" I questioned.

"The truth," He shrugged, "We found a trail, built a fire, forged for berries." He joked.

I chuckled, "We foraged for berries?"

He nodded in response, "That's how you find berries, Mae. You forage for them. Then I heroically fought off a bear that tried to eat you."

"No. I fought the bear. You were searching for berries." I shot back with a smirk.

He chuckled at my words before speaking, "Hey, I'm having a thing tonight. You should swing by. Any time after ten. I'll send you the details."

"Maybe," I hummed in response before leaving the hotel.

𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 next day. I had decided against going to Justin's party. When I got home I was so tired that I crashed early.

I was now waiting at the rink for him to show up but he was already very late after he promised he wouldn't be.

Eventually, I'd had enough of waiting for him and calling him more times than I could count.

I stormed up to his suite, still in my skates and banged on the door repeatedly until it opened.

He opened the door with his shirt undone and his hair messed up, "What's up?" He greeted.

I scoffed in disbelief, "What's up?"

A brunette girl suddenly appeared behind Justin with a glare, "You're not room service." She rolled her eyes before venturing off back into the suite.

"What the fuck, Justin?" I yelled in anger, "I thought things were fine between us. What the hell is going on? You promised you'd be there."

"Yeah, and you promised you'd come to my party." He shot back.

I rolled my eyes, "I didn't promise anything. Are you actually being serious right now? This is because I missed your party?" I scoffed in disbelief, "This whole time I've been thinking everything is going wrong because of me. The lift, your behaviour which sucks." I added, "I know I'm not as good as I used to be but I can't get better by myself. If you wanna skate, you know where I am." I yelled before storming out of the suite.

𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐒𝐎𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 I arrived back at the rink, Justin came. I was rehearsing on the ice when he exchanged a few words with Dasha until skating over to me.

"I'm sorry." He immediately said.

I folded my arms across my chest with a stern look on my face, "Good."

He leaned closer to me, "You know I'd never let you fall, right?"

I breathed out a sigh of relief at his words. His tone and the look on his face made me almost convinced.

"Fresh start, guys." Dasha called out, "Come on. Let us try another lift. One more chance. This time with choreography. Come on, guys. Be together. Yes, good! Pick up the speed. Excellent! Together."

We glided across the ice hand in hand as Justin turned to me, "You ready?"

I nodded in response, allowing him to lift me swiftly, feeling completely safe.
