*Grey- Solan Memorial Hospital*

I burst into the ER as fast as I could and I see Shay in the trauma room. I raced towards the trauma room but I gotten pull back to Lucas.

"Y/N. Relax it's going to be fine. Alright, just breath." he assured, as he pulled me into hug.

A couple seconds later, Kelly and Andrea burst through the doors and rushed over to us, intent on getting to their best friend/sister.

"Is that her? Is that Shay!?" They wondered, sounding very panicky as they caught sight of Leslie being worked on in Trauma Bay 1.

"Guys, guys. Please let them do their jobs." Wallace says

We three continued to struggle, not acknowledging the older man's words in the slightest. We tried to get to the trauma bay.

"Guy! GUYS!!!" they yelled.

"We want to see her!!!" we cried, reaching an arm towards their best friend/sister.

Alex came out of the elevator and saw us, I broke free and raced towards my best friend, and he hugged me tightly.

"Al-ex. A tr-ck plo-wed into Am-bu-lance 61." I say, crying into his chest. "Shush, I know y/n. Please just let them work okay?"

"What are they- what are they taking her? She's got a-a-a head injury?" Kelly stuttered. "How bad is it?"

"I don't know." Wallace whispered, quietly

*Grey-Solan Memorial Hospital: Waiting Area*

We all moved into a small waiting room area and were eventually joined by the rest of the firefighters. Wallace had been slowly pacing back and forth at the end of the room and he just looked up just in time to see Matt and Travis practically running in his direction.

"What have you heard?" Travis inquired, slightly out of breath.

"Moderate traumatic brain injury. And they've located the brain swelling, so they're gonna do an M.R.I, try to determine the extent of the damage."

"If anybody can find a way to rally, it's Shay." Judd chimed in looking up from the magazine he had been reading.

"And Dawson's alright?" Matt asked in confirmation, needing to know for sure.

"She has a laceration on her leg, but other than that, she's fine. They're gonna release her in a minute." Natasha assured as they turned towards the rest.

"The other driver, this tow truck, was he D.U.I or. . ." Travis wondered.

"No. Breathalyzer came up negative." Otis shook his head.

"Stupid freak thing." Ben muttered. "Truck blew a tire."

"What about Shay's family?" Matt inquired, looking at Kelly and I.

"Mom's in Tacoma. Dad's on his way. We left message for her mom." I replied.

"Every thought, every prayer needs to be directed down that hallway." Steve instructed. "All right."

*Firehouse 51*

Shift started, leaving everyone scattered around various places inside the common room.

"Shay?" Kelly wondered, as he stood up from his spot at the long table, as Gabby appeared.

"She's still in the I.C.U., but the brain swelling subsided, and she won't be surgery or the I.C.P catheter. They're hoping she's out of the woods." Gabby informed.
