"Hey moron! Get off his bed, that's a pretty poor first impression!" A voice was heard from behind a door where Jim stood hesitant.

"Who're you calling a moron you retarded beast?!" Another voice replied.

"Quiet you two he'll be here any minute."

"Tell that to that pig over there."

"Says the guy who got fried by a girl." After that everywhere seemed quiet.

"Finally some peace." The third voice said before pausing a few seconds suddenly an uproar of laughter rose among the group clearly it was the first guy they were laughing at. With a sigh, he pushed the door open and stepped in. He had never shared a room with others before, so it would be a first.

On seeing the person who just walked in, they all quietened down and stared at him, the atmosphere was suddenly tense all of a sudden.

"You must be Jimmy Oscar right?" One of them spoke up.

Looking at who spoke, he saw a huge guy with a scar across his cheek which had red eyes.

"Yes," He replied.

"Good," the boy nodded like he was a teacher or something.

"I'm Denok, this is Axel and Phil, we would be your new roomates"

"Hey shouldn't it be the other way round?" Phil whispered to Axel who shrugged.

"Just let him do his thing." Axel said.

Looking at the boy named Axel, he had shoulder length blue hair and sky blue eyes he had looks that screamed:
"Look at me! I'm too handsome!"

While Phil on the other hand, was pretty plain, he had dark curly hair and dark eyes with plain features.

"Nice to meet you buddy!" Phil said

"What's your ability?" Axel asked

"Oh that, well the thing is, I don't have one." Jim said
...
...
...

"That... that shouldn't be possible right?... Right?" Axel asked while Denok shrugged.

"I don't know either, but that doesn't mean a thing though," Denok said before turning to Jim.

"You're welcome here, and don't let any other person know about this after us, the academy can be a little bit... Crazy, at times." Denok said and Jim nodded.

He was actually surprised by how they took it, he had expected a scoff, a curse or simply being ignored. They were the first ones apart from his family who accepted him for who he was he felt his eyes tear up but stopped himself from crying, crying wouldn't help, crying wouldn't change anything, no, on the contrary it actually made things worse so he put up a smile and walked in.

"You're really unlucky you know?" Phil said.

"You couldn't have come at a worse time than this, really."

A glint of understanding flashed through Axel's eyes as he remembered something.

"You talking about the expedition?" Axel asked

"More like death sentence, yes, yes I'm talking about the expedition, it's next week!, I don't think we'll survive this one though."

Hearing them speak, his heart tightened, he knew what an expedition was the would be transported to another planet an uninhabited but low grade planet to hunt and gain real life experience. He only just got here and they would be leaving next week?! It seems like fate has decided it's time for him to join his parents.

Humans have inhabited countless other planets apart from earth, however this was no easy task as beasts resided on these planets.

These beasts were ranked like humans but they had no sub-ranks just F, E, D, C, B, A, S and X.

Planets on the other hand have grades there were four grades a planet had namely: Green, Yellow, Orange, and Red. The green grade was safe and cities had been built it was actually no different from earth. Yellow was inhabitable but not completely colonised. Orange was in the process of colonisation. While red was uncharted.

They would be taken to a yellow grade planet at most, but that doesn't really make things any easier for Jim. Before the invasion, Jim had always been training his physical body, honing it to his best abilities so when he got an ability, there wouldn't be any problems, if a person was to use an ability orb to get an ability, the persons physique would contribute to the strength of the ability and at this point Jim had trained so much that he was confident in his ability to defeat an F4 rank and at least defend against an F3 but that was it. It wasn't even nearly enough.

With a dejected sigh, he sat on the bed and studied the ring on his finger, he lingered before taking a look at the contents.

His face remained the same for a few seconds before his eyes bulged and a startled yelp escaped his lips.

'Since when were they so rich?!' He couldn't help but ask. Inside the ring was nothing but money. They were stacked neatly on each other in rows forming a little mountain.

He sighed and didn't really want to think about anything for now as he lied down on the bed, it was already night and Phil and Axel had started cursing again, while Denok just rolled on the bed in laughter. Jim watched them amused a feint smile appeared on his face.

'Time to sleep I guess.' Jim thought as he fell asleep a single teardrop escaping his closed eyelids.

"Hey!, hey morons! Shut it, he's asleep." Denok said while Phil who was still in the middle of saying something stopped and frowned.

"Does he really not have an ability?" He asked.

"Well that's what he said and I haven't been able to sense an iota of energy from him."
Axel said. Earning a contemptuous gaze from Phil.

"How far did those energy senses get ya while you were being roasted?" Phil snickered.

"You... " They immediately began cursing again, Denok didn't even pay them any attention and just stared intently at Jim.

"Interesting..." Denok mummured as a frown appeared on his face.
