it was good until it wasn't

Chapter 3

" Sometimes I wish you knew But I disguise the truth, I say I'm happy but I'm still stuck on us, mmm, mmm, mmm, Does your mind play this game too? Think 'bout me and you, I guess I'll just pretend, Until it all makes sense, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, See you face to face, I'm thinking 'bout the days we used to be, But I can't make a scene, but I can't make a scene" I lightly sung, Reading from my song book while walking around the kitchen.

I sighed and sat the notebook down on the counter.

" Mama" I heard a something hit against something else.

I looked up to see hazel banging her plastic fork against her tray table.

" baby you're gonna hurt yourself... again" I mumbled taking the fork from her.

I sat it in the sink and headed back to her, slid the tray off of her chair and picked her up. She laughed and started babbling about something when my phone went off. I went to pull it out my pocket when Victoria yelled something.

" What I didn't hear you" I yelled back.

I pulled my phone out to see it was the same text that has been sitting there for the last four hours from kehlani's friend creek.

Hey, Keh doesn't know if she did something wrong or not but she asked me to text and just see how you're doing... She finally got back into the studio so if you'd like to come chill with us we'll be here but if not we'll see you tonight

He sent me the location of the studio.

I kept rereading that last part we'll see you tonight what does he mean by that.

I let out a sigh because I didn't mean to ignore Kehlani the way I have been I just needed to figure out how I truly feel around them.

It's wrong because I have a beautiful family and support system but I don't feel like me when I'm here. I love my daughter and would kill for her but everything else outside of her, I feel like I'm putting up with a facade.

I slid my phone back into my pocket as Victoria came into the kitchen.

" you come here and you go get dressed please we have to be there by 8 and you know how LA traffic is" she said taking Hazel out my arms.

" Who are we having dinner with again" I asked her.

" My mother, Ari, Tacir, Sean, Joya, Jhené, Sean, Ty, Trey, and David Ali and his crew"

I furrowed my eyebrows at that last part.

" David Ali as in-"

" Kehlani's manager David yes, I felt like bringing some people who support you like hell to this dinner, you've been a little off  for the last two weeks and I don't know the reason but I wanna try and get you out of whatever funk you're in" she said giving me a soft smile.

I didn't know whether to be happy or tell her to uninvite Kehlani and them.

" I thought you didn't like Kehlani" I said walking behind her towards the steps.

" I don't but this should show you what I'm willing to put up with for you" she said walking into Hazels room.

I shook my head and walked into our room.

" Someone shoot me or hit me with their car before we get there" I mumbled.

" Y/n how is your rosé " Victoria's mother had asked me.

" It's Very good" I said drinking what was left in my glass.
