"Don't forget to lock all the doors, and make sure the windows are shut tight," Mango's voice echoed through the hallway as he grabbed his keys. He paused at the front door, turning back towards Purple with a familiar look of worry etched on his face.

"Dad, I know," she said, rolling her eyes as she leaned against the kitchen counter. "You've told me a million times already."

"I'm just saying," he continued, as if he hadn't heard her, "and if anyone comes to the door—"

"I won't let them in," Purple finished his sentence with a sigh. "You've drilled it into my head enough. I'll be fine."

"I just—"Mango started again , but Purple cut him off with a small smile.

"Dad, relax. I've got this. You worry too much." Purple spoke as Mango gave a sigh.

"Okay.." He spoke. He opened the door and paused, turning to her one last time. "And please.. don't drink. God forbid something does happen, I don't want you to be drunk out of your mind." He said. Purple sighed with a smile, walking over and hugging him.

"Dad.. I've got this. Trust me." She smiled as Mango bent down to kiss her forehead. "If it makes you feel better, I'll invite someone over." She continued.

Well.. that did put his mind at ease. "Okay, okay." He stood up, ruffling her hair. He then looked at his phone. "A— okay shit. I gotta head out, love ya kiddo. Call me if anything happens!" He spoke before swiftly exiting the house.

Quiet..

Huh. Purple fell to her knees with a sigh. Her dad can be.. tough to convince. He had to go on a business trip for a couple days and Gold wanted to have a sleepover and Lavender was probably hanging out with some friends so.. Purple had the whole place to herself.

She stood up, pulling out her phone. She took out her phone and dialed Green's number.

After a bit he answered. "Hello?"

"Hey babe.. uhm. Question." Purple said looking out the window, watching Mango's car leave the driveway and drive off.

"Do you like.. want to come over?" She said.

"Ah.." Green let out a sigh. "Is that Purple?? Hiiii Purpleeeee!!" Purple heard from the other end as she giggled.

"Heyy Seconddd.." Purple said.

"Gosh.. I Dunno, Purps.." Green said. "I mean.. I just got out the hospital."

"Oh shit right." Purple said. "It's just that I'm kind of home alone and a little scared..—"

"Wait you're home alone??" Green said. Then there was silence.

"Okay, okay, we'll be there in like 10." Green spoke before hanging up. Wait.. we??

Either way, Greens coming over. Purple sighed, sitting on the couch. Then she thought.. were the doors locked?

Yeah. Ofc they were.. they were always locked.. yea. They're locked..

She yawned, feeling a little sleepy. She rubbed her eyes before heading upstairs to her room.

Leaving the door open in case she heard the door open, she sat on her bed, scrolling social medias. She already bored out of her mind and ten minutes felt like an eternity.

Around 10 minutes later, she yawned once more, sitting up straight. That's when she heard a noise from downstairs. Weird. Green hadn't texted her that they arrived.

She giggled to herself quietly. "Dumbass. He's trying to surprise me~" she said, getting up out of her bed. "I'll surprise him first :]"

She started to slowly creep down the stairs. "Green!" She shouted. "If you're trying to surprise me, you already losttt~" she giggled again.

About halfway down the stairs, her phone started ringing. Green was calling her.

She answered the phone with a small giggle. "Hello?"

"Hey babe.. uh listen- we're gonna be a little late, we're stuck in traffic." Green said, looking at Alan who banged his head on the steering wheel, making it honk multiple times.

"Dad—" Second said.

"Ohhhh, I see." Purple smirked. "Cmon Green, I know it's you inside my house." She said.

Green was silent. "Babe, what are you talking about?" That's when Purple heard more honking from the other end. That's when her heart sank. If Green wasn't inside her house then who was??

"Babe, go hide now. We're going to be there soon." Green spoke. Purple nodded and as she went up the stairs, she heard glass shatter. This scared up as she practically ran up the stairs, dropping her phone in the process.

She ran into her room and shut the door, getting under her bed.

Shit shit this was bad. This was really bad.

About 7 minutes later, it was still completely silent. She had been huddled under her bed

She heard the sound of footsteps coming up the stairs. She felt her heart start racing. No no no not like this. She couldn't die like this. She couldn't go out like this!

As her door opened, she put her hand over her mouth. She watched the feet go around her room.

Wait a minute.. those shoes.. she recognized those shoes! She slowly crawled out from under the bed and was relieved to see Green.

"GREEN!" She shouted, practically jumping into his arms. She was still extremely shaken up.

"hey— Hey! Baby, you okay??" Green asked. Purple nodded quickly as Green kissed her forehead.

Second came running up. "There's no sign of the intruder, but the backdoor was wide open.."

Oh shit. She left the backdoor open..
