MADELYN CAMPBELL
Lo and Warren came out of our bedroom both with huge grins on their faces. And honestly, I was so glad that they had gotten over this fight because it was stupid.
There was no point ignoring each other like they had been for the past few weeks.
And I was glad that they were good again.
Lo came right up to me, wrapping his arms around me and tugging me in for a long kiss.
"All resolved," he smiled against my mouth.
"Good," I smiled back at him.
He kissed my cheeks and jaw, not stopping his smile, "You're fucking sexy, you know?"
"What?" I giggled, wrapping my arms around his chest.
"You are," he muttered, squeezing my hips, "So gorgeous too"
I rolled my eyes at him and tugged at his neck to pull him back to me to kiss him.
"Let's sneak into our bedroom and fuck," he whispered against my mouth.
I grinned at him, wanting that a lot.
But also just wanting to have our Christmas meal, exchange presents and then later when they were all gone, do that.
"Later," I promised, "I wanna do presents first"
He chuckled, "Alright, love. Let's do presents"
I was excited.
I had never really had such a great Christmas growing up. And last years' had been a mess.
"Do you want to tell the others today?" He asked, lifting my hand and pressing a kiss to the ring on my finger.
The ring that they had surprisingly not noticed yet.
"Yes," I smiled.
Telling them on Christmas was a good idea. It was a perfect Christmas occasion.
Lo gripped my hand and tugged me to the living room where they were all sitting and watching television.
Emma in the corner, beside Sebastian, who had Luna on his lap. And Connor next to them.
Warren on the other side.
Lo turned off the television and tugged me into his side, "We've got something to tell you guys"
Emma and Sebastian gave each other a look.
There was a small smile on both of their lips.
Oh.
They knew.
"Madelyn is the love of my life," he started and I couldn't stop the huge grin, "She always has been"
"Just say it," I told him, "They know already"
Lo looked down at me and then frowned, "What?"
Everyone was grinning.
Even Connor. And Luna also.
Lo looked over all of our friends and he frowned even more, "How do you know?"
Sebastian rolled his eyes and tugged something out of his back pocket and held it out to Lo. He went to grab it and I looked over his shoulder to see the ripped out page from a magazine.
It was a picture of us.
When Lo had proposed to me.
It was him holding my hand and slipping the ring onto my finger. A huge grin on both our mouths.
Loren Kensington and his now fiancé, mystery girl, Madelyn Campbell.
That was under the picture.
"I fucking told him not to print those pictures," Lo muttered, "For fuck's sake"
I wanted to frame this picture of us, it was that good. We looked so happy.
"Well it wasn't exactly just that," Emma chuckled, "You didn't exactly hide the ring from me"
Oh, true.
I guess we hadn't been so smooth about it. But then again, I hadn't really wanted to hide it either. Just for a little while so we could get into it and make sure it worked out.
"And I knew," Connor spoke, smiling.
Lo rolled his eyes at Connor because of course he did. He always knew everything.
"So, do you guys have a date for the wedding already?" Sebastian asked.
Lo tugged me into him with a massive grin, "She's already my wife"
Emma's lips parted and then she jumped up with a small squeal, coming towards us and tugging me away from Lo to hug me tightly.
"Congratulations, Madelyn"
And all of them got up and hugged us and congratulated us and it was the best thing ever. That all of our friends knew and that we were all here together, having a happy Christmas together.
We'd come a long way, Lo and I. From nothing, just him and I, alcoholic and me, unable to do anything without being scared. To this.
Having friends aside from each other, having a little family together. Being married. Being happy. Sober. In therapy. Working on ourselves while being together and making each other better people every single day we were together.
This life, it was so much better than whatever I had thought I would have a few months ago even. And I would spend the rest of my life with Lo, cherishing every single second of it.
I looked up at Lo, cupped his face and kissed him softly, "I love you, Lo"
"I love you more, Mads," he whispered, kissing me back softly.
And there was no other place that I'd rather be other than in Lo's arms. In our apartment. Together.
