ZAISHA

The next two days passed in a blur. Today was the day I have been waiting for all my life. I am the lead designer in the most prestigious fashion show. It should be the happiest day. But I can't ignore the emptiness I am feeling. It feels like something is missing.

I haven't seen Reyaan in these two days. I don't know if I am grateful for the distance or if I am disappointed with his absence. I just expected him to be here.

He has neither contacted me nor tried to meet me since then. I would have thought that he went back if it was not for the flowers, I found on my doorstep today. The same flowers I got for him once. Colourful tulips.

There was a note attached to it. My heart pounded as I opened it, "Zaisha, Today is your day, and I couldn't be prouder of you."

I read the note over and over. The gesture was simple yet profound.

The place was buzzing with energy. Backstage, the models were getting their final touches of makeup, assistants were bustling around, and the buzz of anticipation filled the air. My designs were the centrepiece of the show, and seeing them come to life was surreal.

Ms. Ahuja came beside me. "Are you ready? The show is going to start soon." I nodded and got dressed as well in a simple but elegant brown formal dress.

The theme of the collection is 'Ethereal Elements'. It is inspired by the natural elements—Earth, Water, Fire, and Air—blended with a touch of fantasy and mysticism. Each piece is designed to reflect the beauty and power of these elements, showcasing fluid movements, bold colours, intricate details, and innovative textures. The aim is to create a magical, otherworldly experience that captivates the audience and transports them into a realm of enchantment.

The lights dimmed to cast a glow on the runway. The soft melody filled the air as the audience held their breath in anticipation. The first model stepped on the runway. The spotlight was on her and she walked with confidence and grace. She wore a gown that shimmered with shades of emerald and gold. The fabric, rich and textured, evoked the lushness of ancient forests and the glitter of precious minerals. Intricate embroidery mimicked the patterns of leaves and vines, bringing the essence of Earth to life.

The next models entered the stage. Their gowns flowed like cascading waterfalls, with fabrics in shades of blue, turquoise, and silver. Light and airy, the dresses moved like waves, adorned with sequins and beads that sparkled under the lights, mimicking the surface of a tranquil ocean.

The tempo of the music picked up, introducing the fiery and passionate segment of the collection. Models strutted down the runway in striking red, orange, and gold ensembles. The designs were bold and daring, featuring dramatic silhouettes and fiery details. Rich fabrics with accents of lace, velvet, and metallics showcased the power and intensity of fire.

The final segment brought a sense of lightness and freedom to the runway. Models glided effortlessly in ethereal gowns that floated like clouds. The colour palette included soft pastels, whites, and silvers, creating a dreamy and celestial atmosphere. Sheer and delicate fabrics, with layers of tulle and chiffon, moved gracefully with each step, capturing the essence of air—light, free-spirited, and whimsical.

At the end all the elements were brought together to symbolize harmony and balance between the elements. The final model walked the runway in a breathtaking gown that incorporated colours and textures from all four elements. The dress featured a gradient of colours, starting with earthy tones at the hem, transitioning through watery blues and fiery reds, and ending with airy whites at the bodice. This masterpiece symbolized the unity and interconnectedness of the natural world.
