Aena glanced at Lia, then shifted her gaze to Shameer, who stood at a distance. Without hesitation, she walked toward them. Clearing her throat loudly, she announced her presence. "Ahem."

Her tone was firm as she asked, "Is there anything?" Her sharp eyes flicked between the two.

"Um, I was just here to-" Shameer began nervously but was quickly interrupted by Lia.

"He came to invite us," Lia interjected, her voice quick as if to save him from fumbling.

"An invitation?" Aena repeated, raising a skeptical eyebrow.

"Yes... um... I mean, we're having a bonfire tonight. For that," Shameer said, trying his best to appear composed. However, under Aena's piercing gaze, he stuttered.

"So, will Lia com-I mean, will you all come? The two... no, I mean the three of you?" he fumbled again, visibly struggling with his words.

Aena could feel his tension and tilted her head slightly, amused. Suddenly, her lips curled into a smile. "It's four of us-me, Lia, Soha, and Mia," she clarified, wrapping an arm around Lia's shoulder protectively.

"We'll think about it," Aena said playfully, her tone light yet deliberate. Shameer's face flushed, and Lia avoided eye contact, her own cheeks dusted with pink.

Chuckling, Aena pulled Lia away, leaving the hallway.

As they walked down the corridor, Aena asked, "Did he say anything to you?"

Lia shook her head, her response silent but clear.

"Okay," Aena said, much to Lia's surprise.

Lia stared at her, baffled. Aena wasn't angry-a rare occurrence.

Noticing Lia's expression, Aena stopped and sighed. "He's just a kid," she said, rolling her eyes dismissively.

"He's older than you," Lia mumbled, her voice barely audible.

"Oh, really? I must've forgotten," Aena replied sarcastically, her tone dripping with mock seriousness.

After a pause, Aena's eyes gleamed mischievously as she teased, "So, if he's not a kid, that means you don't like him, right? Because you prefer guys who act childish only in front of their women... like Shameer, for example."
