Chapter Nineteen
The Crazed Boy Wonder

Harry had been acting more unusual than normal lately. The friendship between the two supposed best friends was a strange one. Despite Harry trying hard, well as hard as he had ever tried to get something back to normal, it didn't seem to be progressing back to where he thought it would. But that hadn't stopped him pulling out all the works to try and make it better. To make it back to the friendship he thought they had this time the year prior, or maybe just a little bit before that. To the point where he was under the belief that Bronwyn pretty much worship the ground of which he walked upon, was completely besotted with him. Where he was the clear boy in her life, the unofficial boyfriend and every other teenager in the school respected that. Because he was slipping and now there was new blood on the scene. And Harry hated it.

He had gone from having nothing in his life, to everything. From no attention, to being under the attention of everyone. No fame, to being one of the most famous wizards to have ever lived. And he was only gaining more of it every single day, each year that passed. So why was not having Bronwyn's full attention meaning so much to him. It was simple, because she was his first. He saw her first, he saw the awkward little chubby eleven year old ginger girl who was clearly dressed in clothing that did not fit, had barely been tailored to fit and was clearly out of her own depths when it came to everything around them. He had put that claim on her, his best friend his Ron, right back when they were eleven and he refused to let anyone tell him otherwise. Refused to allow anyone to change that. Therefore, the time was of the essence to ensure that she continued to remain under his thumb. Bronwyn, who he would get back to being called 'Ron' soon enough, would give herself to him entirely just like she had always done.

She remained incredibly naive about it all still despite everything that had happened. She seemed a little too gullible for good cause. Therefore he had very simply got her to agree to coming along to have a little study session with him by the lake. The pair had done it plenty of times over the last few weeks as he came to understand that he would have to cater to some of these strange new preferred hobbies and interests of hers. But it was all a ruse, he would rather surprise her with a cute little picnic. Talk to her about just how perfect they were going to be together. How he knew from the moment he met her that she was destined to be his, just like his father knew when he met his mother. That Bronwyn was the redhead made for him. His one purpose and love. Then once she was his, he would get her to be the Ron he wanted her to be.

He was out there half an hour before the time he had set for her to meet him, sitting and waiting patiently upon the red blanket he had set out for them. Red to match their house colours which he knew was going to be the interior theme of their house they would move into when they finished school, and red like the strong burning love they clearly felt for one another. He watched in the direction he knew she would be coming in, for she chose to approach the lake only in one way, and he had pitched his set up so that she could clearly see him and the importance of this date the second she was close enough.

And soon enough he saw a tall ginger figure make their way towards him. At first he thought perhaps he was seeing the twins considering two tall figures were walking over, much taller than his 5 foot 6 inches height but he was convinced he would be much taller when he finally finished growing in a few years. But as the figures came closer he could confirm it was indeed Bronwyn on her way over to him, she was stood dressed for the weather in a thick grey coat, a brown jumper sticking out from the small unzipped section at the top and black jeans. But the more he took in the figures the more enraged he became. For the person walking alongside Bronwyn was not either of her brothers, nor was it any of the few friends he didn't mind her keeping. Rather a tall lanky Slytherin of all people was by her side. And for some reason she seemed to generally be enjoying the snakes company. For the light laughter he could see upon her face was more than telling. Harry harshly took off his glasses rubbing them on the material of the blanket to ensure they were clean before putting them back on. Sure his eyes were playing tricks on him, yet the closer they got the clearer his vision became. And the more frustrated he was at the same time.

For stood with his Ron was none other than the slimy snake who was stealing her away from him. Blaise Zabini was for some stupid reason accompanying his girl on their date. He was stood so close that their sides were touching and seemed to be talking in their own little language between themselves. As if their words were marred with inside jokes and unlikely comments. And Harry hated every second of what he was witnessing.

"Zabini, I think you can leave me and my girl alone now." Harry spat the second the pair were close enough. His words filled with the hatred which was burning his core. Blaise chose to ignore the bespeckled boy's words at first, unsure as to what was going through the wizarding hero's mind. Rather he turned to look at Bronwyn instead, he could feel her tensing beside him, and if anything Blaise had been told was correct, Bronwyn was leaving their charms study session to meet Harry and study Care of Magical Creatures, but this was nothing like she had lead him to believe. And Blaise knew instantly it was because this was not what she was expecting either.

"Harry what is this? I thought we were meant to be studying?" Bronwyn answered before either boy could respond.

"No, this is not how this is supposed to go." Harry huffed before turning towards Bronwyn "No you are supposed to come and join me. So come and join me Ron leave him behind." Harry believed his words would cause the older girl to come and sit with him like she should do, after all he was Harry Potter, yet he watched as she etched a little closer to the snake who had still to leave them in peace.

"Harry I really don't understand what's going on. We're friends that are supposed to be studying together not whatever this is."

"We're not friends Ron, you need to come here eat this lunch I spent ages getting the house elves to make correctly and then become my girlfriend." Harry's words made Bronwyn want to scoff, at her own stupidness. Perhaps she should have listened to the other girls when they first came back to school after the summer. Because how had she not seen this coming, perhaps she had expected it maybe deep down. But Harry was very quickly becoming a little deranged and she knew she needed to get away before things became physical. As in she punched the boy for his stupid actions.

"I don't want to be your girlfriend Harry." Bronwyn was sharp and to the point, no desire to let him down easy knowing that he wasn't going to take an easy nice let down as the no it was.

"You don't really have much of a choice Ron." Harry spat and Bronwyn nearly forgot Blaise still remained an awkward bystander to this conversation, that was until she felt him press even stronger into her side linking his hand with her own.

"I do whatever I want to do Harry. And that is not be your girlfriend." Bronwyn went to make a move to leave gently giving Blaise a tug with their connected hands wondering just how she was going to explain this one to the boy. Talk about a strange interaction to have witnessed. Yet before she could move away properly Harry was on his feet and grabbing her spare arm.

"You can't leave like this, this is not part of the plan. Don't you understand Bronwyn we're made to be together. Just like my father and mother." Harry started to ramble and before Bronwyn could turn back to say anything more to him a fist collided with Harry's face a little crack afterwards as the glass in his glasses broke.

"No means no Potter." Blaise was furious as he snapped "Leave her alone." He soon began to tug Bronwyn away from the Potter heir and quickly to the other side of the courtyard. The second he knew that they were not only away from Harry but also safe from too many lurking eyes he was quick to pull Bronwyn into a hug. He knew it was not part of the customs of courting he had wanted to bad to follow, to get in her good books, but he knew that in this moment it was necessary.

"You're okay my Raven I promise." He muttered gently as he felt her body shake. For he knew all that work she had been putting in to herself, to drag herself out of the waters she had been drowning in. Well the little glasses wearing punk had just destroyed all of her hard work. And he was going to pay for it.

Blaise also was going to have to rush that protection jewellery he was having made. Just to ensure nothing else bad happened to her. Not while he could prevent it.
