Chapter Thirty Five
Teenaged tries
Sabine Zabini had been a little concerned when three hours after she had brought the teenaged girl back to her home that she had not seen either teen. Part of her praying motherly mind pondered if they were just having a rather risqué reunion common for separated teens or if something else was going on. And therefore, she had to determine what kind of scene she could be walking in on if she was not careful. But Sabine had raised her son better than that, or at least she hoped so. It had been incredibly hard to raise Blaise on her own, the boys father passing away just before his second birthday it had been a shock to her. She had been the one to bring the Zabini family into the union, her husband having been a third born son and not been entitled to any lordships. And the whole part of marrying her husband, because it had not been for love but necessity, would be so that she had someone to carry the Zabini tasks with, so she had plenty of time to raise their family. A family where she wanted more than one baby. But Mother Magic had not graced her with another child, not until now. Now she had a daughter in the form of the teenaged girl courting her son.
Therefore, she decided that considering she trusted her son, she would gently knock on his bedroom door to see what the two teens were up to. Only to find his room completely empty. The lights turned off, it looked as though the boy had not been present in there since the morning, if the incredibly clean room was anything to go by. Therefore, she sucked it up, her pride that was, and went to the room next door. The second room was much larger than the first, designed to be the master room for the generation of the family on that side. Blaise had refused to have that room as his own when he had been remodelling that side of the house over Christmas. He had in mind the witch who would be staying there, and he wanted her to have a space of her own for as long as she needed it.
Sabine knocked gently on the door to the room, not wanting to disturb the young girl inside nor enter without permission. But there was silence on the other side of the door, so she knocked a second time. There was once again no response but the door did open to her arrival. And so she entered gaining this to be explicit consent to her entering. Her eyes cast around the room, she had grown familiar with it over the last few months as Blaise asked her to add more and more to the room as he became more familiar with the teenaged girl it was customised for. She found the two teens on the bed in the centre of the room. Blaise was sat with his back against the headrest a book in his hand but he appeared to have stopped reading to look up at his mother. Curled into his side was the bright red hair of the teenaged girl she was to call her daughter in law in the coming years, officially that was she knew now her son had his hands on the girl there was no way she was being let go. Bronwyn appeared asleep her chest rising and falling peacefully but Sabine noted immediately the redness of her cheeks, the dried tear marks upon her face. It was clear the young girl had most likely cried herself into exhaustion before settling to sleep.
"Is everything okay my love?" Sabine's voice was gentle barely above a whisper as she approached the side of the bed her son was on. Blaise placed the book he had been reading down on the bedside table as he looked down at the sleeping girl before back at his mother.
"Yeah mum, I think her birthgiver's words got to her more when she settled here." Blaise sighed he was unsure as to how he could really support Bronwyn through what had happened earlier in the day. He could never imagine his own mother acting in the way of which her's had. He had no experience in that field if he was being honest he was unsure if any of his friends had and that scared him. Because he couldn't figure out the best way to support his girl and that was something he did not like. Blaise prided himself of always being able to find an answer, of always knowing what to do, but in this moment he was drawing blank after blank.
"It's going to be a hard couple of months for Bronwyn but I know with you at her side things will be okay." Sabine comforted her son just like she always had, just like she always would.
