Tiffany

After dropping off Katherine at school, I park a few blocks away and call Ian. His phone goes to voicemail, which is weird, because he usually picks up, but maybe he's just hunting.

"Hey, Ian. I was wondering if you wanted to schedule a training session today or tomorrow while Red is at work and Katherine is at school? Thanks, call me back soon." I say after the beep, then end the voicemail. Then I start driving again.

Ian

"Yeah, yeah, I have the plans." I groan, then honk the car horn a few more times and shout out the window, "HURRY UP! HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO ORDER MCDONALDS?!"

"Well, bring them to me if you aren't busy." The man on the phone growls.

"Sure, after I get my Happy Meal."

"God, Ian, you're a vampire, not a clown. Get your behind over here now or else!" He threatens, then hangs up.

"Man, that guy is a . . ." I say, as I turn up the music on my car radio, which is trap music. The song blasts out of my speakers until eventually, a few minutes later, an underpaid McDonalds employee walks out and asks me to please leave the establishment. I respond by pulling out, hitting her, and driving away.  I guess the loud trap music covered up the sound of my cell's ringtone, and as I turn off the music, I pick up my cell as it goes to voicemail. I guess Tiff wants another training session.

Okay, fine. She'll get one in a few days, although not the one she'll expect.

Katherine

Me and Taylor walk to lunch and she informs me about all of the popular and unpopular and in between kids.

"Over there, is Kianna. She's popular, and pretty nice, but not very smart." Taylor says. "And over there is Mona. As you can see, she's emo. Most of the emo kids are nice and not depressed, but Mona is really creepy and sadistic and suicidal, and talks a lot about death. Unfortunately her Mom works at McDonalds and her Dad is in jail, so she doesn't have enough money or role models to get her help."

"Okay, so why is she at a private school?" I ask.

"Scholarship. She's not super smart, but I guess the school felt bad for her and she's their little project to work on." Taylor shrugs. "We're all supposed to be nice to her and be friends with her, but honestly, nobody wants to be within a five mile radius of her. I'm not being mean, but that's the honest truth."

"Okay." I nod. "So, anyone else to point out?"

"Well, there is Savya." She points to a guy picking his nose in the corner. "But he doesn't need much explanation when you see him digging for gold. Maybe I'll kill him someday, but his blood might be super gross."

"Isn't all blood gross?" I ask.

"I was . . . uh, just kidding." She smiles weakly.  "He's just that gross."

"Seriously, you can get in a lot of trouble for even saying you want to kill someone."

"Well," Taylor starts. "They could never keep me restrained. I'm the toughest person in this school when my friends are absent, counting boys and eighth graders, so stick around me if you also want to be feared."

"I don't think I want to be feared, but thanks." I nod.

"It's no prob, anyways, can you help me with my science homework? I'm not understanding, well, everything."
