Tiffany

I sob on my bed, covered in my own blood. I'm scared to take a shower, in case one of the vampires has to watch me and turns out to be a perv. In fact, I'm scared to even move.

The last few days have been torture: literally. My white bedspread is red and crusty from all the time I've been crying, and I have no idea where Mario is. Every time I've tried to plan some escape, I get tortured. What hurts me even more than the torture is Kat.

She's held out surprisingly long, probably because her hearer side still gives a little humanity. Although she's held out long, that doesn't mean she's in pain. Every day I hear her lock herself in her room and wail. When she comes out, the room is a mess. It takes every ounce of strength to control herself, and when she speaks her voice sounds hoarse. When she cries, she screams because every tear drains her.

This might be the actual end.

Jen (Yep, Pat and Jen won!!)

"Okay, this looks like where Tiffany would live." I say, as we get out of the car. We've been driving all night and day to California.

"Why'd we park so far away?" Pat asks.

"We'd get attacked. Now, come on." I shut the car door and look at Pat. "You have the invisibility potion?"

"Yep." He nods.  "Lasts for one hour, try and not make any noise."

"Okay." I take a tiny blue vial from him, take off the cork, and drink the little liquid inside. It is tasteless. "How will this last for one hour?"

"I trust LDShadowLady with making our potions. Now, come on." Pat and me walk down the street, as we turn invisible. A lady is walking a yipping chihuahua, who barks in our direction.

"Now, now, Smoochies, nothing is there, keep walking." The lady says. I nearly laugh at the name of the chihuahua. Smoochies? Really?

Soon, we reach Tiffany's house. Not too bad, it looks pretty nice.

A vampire is walking inside, and as he does, we go in behind him as the door shuts. Looking around, I can't believe this is Tiffany's house.

Blood streaks the floor, and glass is shattered. I lean over to Pat and whisper, "You steal some stuff, I'll find out if Tiffany or her adoptive daughter know anyone who could help us."

"Got it." Pat whispers back, and goes over to the kitchen which is currently unoccupied. I go upstairs, to where a girl with red hair is sitting in her room, which is a complete mess. The curtains are scratched and ripped, the bedsheets are strewn over the room, and a ripped photo floats to my feet of a man and his wife. Ian and his previous wife.

I walk inside, and the girl looks over at me.

"Who are you?" She asks quietly, in a dry voice.

"You can see me?"

"No, but I sensed you. I can't see you, but I just know you're there." She says. "Who are you?"

"Nobody." I say. "I just want to help you. Do you know anyone that could help?"

"Yeah, my friends. Taylor, Miriam, Daniel, and Matt. Wait, no." She looks down. "Matt is a traitor. Tell Taylor and the rest that. He betrayed us."

A tear slips from her eye, as her voice wobbles. Since it looks like she hasn't had blood for a while, it must be horrible for her to cry.

"I can help you out." I say. "My husb-I mean, partner, might have some more of the invisibility potion."

"No." She looks down. "They know everything. I've seen what they've done to Tiffany to make me crack. If we leave, they could kill Mario. We'd be on the run for the rest of our lives."

"Alright. I'll get help as soon as I can. Do you know how I can get to Taylor?" I ask.

The girl writes down an address on a piece of paper, but then holds it back. "How do I know you're not one of them? How do I know you're not just going to capture my friends?"

"Because," I start. "You're the hearer, right?"

She nods.

"I heard you ask for help." I say. "Hearers don't hear just voices, they hear voices of the past, present, and future. The voices of hearers living, dead, or unconceived."

"Okay, then tell me who you are."

"I'm Jen." I say. "Please, you don't have to trust me, but I promise I'll help you."

"You swear?" The girl asks.

"I swear on all the lucky blocks in the world." I say.

She holds out the sheet of paper with the address, and I gently take it.

"I also wrote where Ian's headquarters is." The girl says. "I've heard things these last few days, but don't go alone."

"I promise." I say. "By the way, what's your name?"

"Kat." She says.

"Well, Kat," I say. "I promise the next time I return, it'll be with a huge bag of blood."

The corners of her mouth lift up, and I see her fangs as she smiles. "Promise?"

"I promise." I say. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have you and your adoptive parents to save."

Kat nods, and I can hear her voice echo gently in my head, "Tell me when you return."

I think back, "I will."

I go out of her room, and race down the stairs. I go into the kitchen, where blood is spilled on the floor. Pat smiles at me.

"I've rigged a potion to splash a burning poison at their face when they open the fridge, and even then all the blood bags, or, um, amputated limbs, have been thoroughly bled out into the sink. Those people are sick if they drink from amputated limbs instead of bags."

"Great, I've got some information to help us help them. Let's go." I say, and we go out of a broken glass sliding door to outside.
