wish you would love me

"So how'd you like the movie?" Kai asked, holding Jennie's waist as they walked out the movie theater.

She shrugged in response, but smiled politely. "It was alright. I didn't exactly get the part where the guy got lost in some ditch... but I enjoyed the rest of it." She turned to face him.

He chuckled at her reaction. "You're cute." Kai smiled again, "Hey, wanna grab some dinner? I know a good place somewhere near us."

She nodded as she lets him grab her hand and leads her the way.

It was a cold, windy day. As the sunset begins, so does the night.

They've been together for months. About 6 months to be exact. But Jennie couldn't help from feeling guilty at times.

Kai was one of the lucky guys that was able to convince her to give him a chance, and she did.

He was sweet, handsome, and smart. He'd take her on all sorts of dates, give her flowers and treats her like a princess. All things you could like about a guy, he was the perfect guy. The perfect boyfriend.

But he wasn't her.

He didn't have that long, blonde hair that goes down to the waist and moves as the wind tells it to. His hands were rough, unlike her soft ones. He didn't have that smile where every time she sees it, it made her heart skip a beat. He didn't have the eyes where she just stares at them for far too long. And he didn't have the lips, those soft lips where she dreamed of kissing them one day. He was simply, not her.

The things they were doing, she wished it was with her instead. As selfish as it sounds, she wanted her. She wanted her, badly.

That's what was making Jennie feel guilty. She didn't love him the way she wishes she does. She wished she could push away her true feelings and just be with Kai, yet she knew it wasn't that easy.

She knew her heart belonged to someone else, and she knew she was being selfish in a way.

The guilt was eating her up. She couldn't focus on the things he was trying to tell her at the moment, until he gently grabbed her shoulder and faced her.

"Hello? Earth to Jennie?" He asked, concerned. "Is everything okay?"

She stared at him like a deer in front of a light. "Yeah, sorry. I kinda just zoned out a bit for a moment." She awkwardly laughs, looking away in slight embarrassment.

He smiles again, only making the guilt rise up even more. "No need to apologize. I was just letting you know the restaurant was down the block over there."

She nodded once more, taking his hand as he leads the way again.

"So, I was thinking on taking you somewhere special tomorrow. Like something different than our usual dates."

Jennie raises her brow, "Are our usual dates not special?"

Kai shook his head with a knowing smile, "No silly. I meant that I just wanted to take you somewhere special because I have something important to tell you."

"You don't want to tell me now?" She questions.

He shook his head again, squeezing her hand in assurance. "I want it to be special, I want it to be perfect. I already have it all planned and I think you'd be happy once I show you the place and tell you what I want to say."
