The next morning started like any other. Damian prepared breakfast, humming a tune as he moved about the kitchen. The eerie normalcy of it all was suffocating, and my thoughts constantly drifted to escape plans.

Suddenly, a loud banging on the front door shattered the calm. My heart leaped into my throat as I heard familiar voices yelling.

"Y/N! YOU OPEN THIS DOOR RIGHT NOW!" It was my mother, her voice frantic and desperate. "We know you're in there!"

Mom?

Dad?

I froze, my eyes darting to Damian. His expression shifted from surprise to a chilling smile. "Oh, seems like our little fun is over," he said, his tone calm and almost amused.

No, no, no.

This can't be happening.

Before I could react, he moved with alarming speed. In a flash, I was carefully tied up and gagged, hidden inside his secret room within the walls. The darkness closed in around me, and I struggled against my bonds, my heart pounding in my chest.

I heard Damian open the door, his voice cheerful and welcoming. "Good morning! What a surprise to see you here."

"Where is she?" my father's voice demanded, anger and fear mixing in his tone. "We know she's here. Let us see her."

Damian chuckled, a sound that sent shivers down my spine even from my hidden position. "I'm afraid you're mistaken. Y/N isn't here. She left a while ago. Maybe you should check with her friends."

"Don't lie to us," my mother snapped. "We have lawyers and we are ready to take back what was supposed to be ours! The whole town knows this is supposed to be our land. Let us see her, or we'll call the police."

Yes, call the police.

Someone, anyone.

There was a tense silence, and I strained to hear every word, every movement. Then, Damian's voice, cold and menacing, broke the quiet. "I'm afraid I can't let you do that."

No, please.

Don't let him do this.

The next sound was a blood-curdling scream, one that pierced through the walls and echoed in my ears. My heart raced as fear and desperation surged through me. I struggled harder against my bonds, the gag stifling my cries for help.

Oh my god

Oh dear god

Muffled voices continued, and I could only make out snippets of the conversation. Pleas, threats, and then another scream, this one filled with pain and terror. Tears streamed down my face as I realized the horror unfolding just beyond my hidden prison.

Oh God, what is he doing to them?

Minutes felt like hours, and then there was silence. A heavy, oppressive silence that seemed to suffocate me. I listened intently, praying for any sign of life, any indication that my parents were okay.

Please, please, someone say something.

Finally, footsteps approached. The hidden door opened, and Damian stood there, his expression dark and unreadable. He walked over to me, his gaze locking onto mine with a mixture of satisfaction and something more sinister.

"Well," he said quietly, removing the gag, "that was quite the interruption."

I stared at him, my voice trembling as I managed to speak. "What did you do to them?"

He sighed, almost as if he were disappointed. "They were very persistent. I had to... convince them to leave."

What does that mean?

What did you do?

My blood ran cold. "What does that mean?"

He leaned in closer, his eyes piercing into mine. "It means they're gone, and it's just you and me again. Our little secret."

A sob escaped my lips, and I felt a wave of despair wash over me. Damian's hand reached out, gently brushing a tear from my cheek. "Don't worry, sweetheart. We're safe now. No one will come between us."

No, this can't be real.

This can't be happening.

He untied me carefully, his touch almost tender. But the moment I was free, the reality of my situation hit me with full force. I was trapped with a monster, and my last hope for rescue had just been brutally extinguished.

As Damian led me back to the main part of the mansion, his grip on my arm firm but deceptively gentle, I knew I had to find a way out. I had to survive. Because if I didn't, I would be lost to the darkness that had claimed Damian's soul. And that was a fate I couldn't accept.
