Navier's Perspective

As I woke from the haunting depths of a bad dream, the echoes of screams and thunderous strikes lingered in my mind, sending shivers down my spine. Sitting up in my bed, my heart pounding in my chest, I muttered to myself in confusion, "What the hell was that..."

Shaking my head to clear the remnants of the nightmare, I rose from my bed with determination, the memory of the chilling visions fading with each passing moment. Making my way to the bathroom, the cold water splashed against my face, bringing a sense of clarity and wakefulness to my senses.

Staring at my reflection in the mirror, I took in the image of the girl looking back at me - dark red hair cascading around my shoulders, emerald green eyes gazing back with a mix of curiosity and resolve. Placing my glasses on my nose, the familiar frames settling comfortably, I noticed the freckles scattered across my cheeks, a reminder of the passage of time and growth.

Just then, a gentle voice called out to me, breaking the silence of the morning. "Navier? Are you awake, dear?"

It was Evelyn, the woman who had been a constant presence in my life since I was a baby. Though I knew I was not her biological daughter, Evelyn had cared for me with a love and devotion that felt as real as any blood relation. She was not just the Headmistress of Ilvermorny; she was my guardian, my protector, my guiding light in a world filled with magic and mystery.

"Yes, Evelyn, I'm awake," I replied, my voice steady despite the lingering unease from the dream. Making my way to the door, I opened it to find Evelyn standing there, her expression kind and reassuring.

"Come, dear, breakfast is ready," Evelyn said with a warm smile, her eyes reflecting the bond that had formed between us over the years.

As we descended into the bustling kitchen of Ilvermorny, the sight that greeted me caused me to gasp in surprise and delight. Before me, spread out on the table, was a feast fit for a celebration - plates of steaming food, a colorful array of dishes, and a birthday cake adorned with flickering candles.

My eyes widened in astonishment as I took in the scene, my heart swelling with gratitude towards Evelyn, who stood there with a warm smile on her face, her eyes twinkling with mirth.

"Happy birthday, dear," Evelyn said, her voice filled with affection and joy as she gestured towards the table laden with treats. "Yes, it's your eleventh birthday today."

I could hardly believe it - another year had passed, marking the beginning of a new chapter in my life. As I took a seat at the table, the flickering candlelight casting a warm glow around us, I felt a sense of excitement and anticipation building within me.

"Thank you, Evelyn," I replied, my voice filled with emotion as I looked at the birthday cake before me, its sweet scent filling the air. "I never expected such a wonderful celebration."

Evelyn's smile softened, her gaze filled with a mix of pride and fondness. "You deserve every bit of it, Navier. You've grown into a remarkable young witch, and I am honored to have you under my care."

As we sat together, enjoying the birthday feast , I couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging and gratitude towards Evelyn and the magical world of Ilvermorny that had become my home. And as the candles on the cake flickered in the dim light of the kitchen, I made a silent wish, knowing that the year ahead held endless possibilities and adventures waiting to unfold.
