Ayanokoji POV

We were told we were the worst Class in the school's history. The Lowest of the Low. Defectives. Most of the class was obviously upset about it however there was one student that was absolutely infuriated. That student was Horikita.

"My value is assigned based on the actions of the fools in my class? This is ridiculous. Why is this happening to me?"

She seemed so frustrated.

'It may have something to do with her past. Some past struggles most likely.'

Sudo looked at her smirking.

"Well look at that. You're no better than the rest of us."

She glared at him with enough intensity it could give a man a heart attack.

"It's because of fools like you that we have no Class Points."

"Yeah yeah. Whatever."

"You're all idiots. Complete fools!"

I decided to speak up.

"Hey, Horikita. Are you sure about this? If you continue like this you'll be alone for the next 3 years."

Her glare changed targets to me.

"You think I care? I prefer to be alone. Even if I didn't I've been alone for 2 years already. I can handle another 3."

This was a curious statement. It intrigued me. Shinohara then looked to Sudo.

"Hold on a second. She's right. If it weren't for you boys playing games all day we wouldn't have lost so many Class Points."

Ike debuted her statements.

"Yeah right! Like you have the right to talk. You girls did nothing but talk with each other all day."

Hirata stood up distressed.

"Everyone stop! There is no use in arguing over who to blame! We all are at fault for this."

Horikita was very distressed by the situation. It seemed like one more blow would shatter her mind. Her ego had been completely destroyed. Her mind was resisting the temptation of giving in with all her might. I put my hand on her shoulder.

"What exactly do you think you're doing Ayanokoji?"

Her distress turned to anger.

'Even if I had let go here I think she'd be able to recover a bit.'

"It's only the start of the year. Don't convince yourself it's over before the battle has even started. You still have many chances."

Horikita breathed out steadying her breath. She had calmed down.

"I suppose you're right."

There was no thank you. However, I wouldn't blame her given her current mental state.

'There is something about her past that she's hiding.'

Pool

We were eventually taken to the swimming pools. Everyone began having fun in the pools splashing water at each other.
