Chapter 29: Wedding Day

A/N: This will be the final chapter. This is my first fanfic so I wanted to just finish it rather than abandoning it completely. Hope you enjoy reading this as much as I had fun writing it.

He was lost in thought and didn't notice the other person who sat across from him. It was his best man.

Jimin: I knew you wouldn't sleep at all; something's troubling you. I remember that same look on your face when we were in Malta.
(Jimin saw Taehyung nursing a glass of whiskey so he poured himself one as well.)

Taehyung: Jimin-ah, I know that Danielle is the love of my life and I'd probably die if we ever broke up. But why am I losing nerves right now?
(Taehyung looked at his best friend, tears threatening to fall.)

Jimin: It's normal, man; marriage is nerve-wracking. The thought of spending the rest of your life with someone is a big deal. But you have nothing to worry about. I know firsthand how much you two love each other. I don't think me and Rosie's relationship could even compete with that.
(Jimin wiped the tear from the corner of Taehyung's eye as he smiled at his friend comfortingly.)

Taehyung: I don't know man. I feel like I moved too fast. Maybe my motivation of marrying her is because of that stupid promise I made. Maybe I was only thinking of my own self interest. Now that I think about it, Danielle is too young and has an amazing career ahead of her. Maybe being a young married woman will get in the way of all that. It will be unfair for her.

Jimin: You know... I never told this story to anyone, not even Rosie.
My dad almost didn't marry my mom.
(Taehyung was shocked at Jimin's revelation. His full attention was now on Jimin as he continued with the story.)

Jimin: They were college students when my mom got pregnant with me. My dad wanted to run away.. but he chose to stay with mom and they got married soon after. He gave up his studies to work and provide for her, even my grandparents turned their backs on him.. When I was born and he saw me for the very first time, he knew at that moment that he made the right choice. And now there's Park Jimin of BTS, who gives joy to millions of people all around the world.

Taehyung: Jimin-ah, I don't know what to say.

Jimin: Don't worry about it. That was a long time ago. I was such a cute baby back then that my dad couldn't run away.
(Taehyung finally smiled and felt like a huge weight was lifted from his shoulders when Jimin opened up to him. He's glad that he has Jimin in his life.)

Taehyung: Thank you for sharing it with me. And for always being my guardian angel.

Jimin: Of course, but I'll expect you to do the same for me if I ever get cold feet from marrying Chaeyoung.
(They continued talking while drinking until they fell asleep at the sun lounger they were both lying in.)

Meanwhile, at Dani's Guest House.
She was also having a hard time falling asleep. She kept tossing and turning on her king-size bed when she heard a knock followed by her mother's voice.

Dani's Mom: Sweety? Everything ok in there?

Danielle: No, mom, I can't sleep.
(Her mom enters the room, a glass of  warm soy milk in hand.)

Dani's Mom: I brought you your favorite to help you sleep. I thought you'd have trouble sleeping. I was also in the same situation when I married your dad.

Danielle: A month ago, I used to wish for the days to go by quickly. Now that it's finally tomorrow, I'm having mixed feelings.

Dani's Mom: That's how it usually feels, sweety. At first you're like, "Am I doing the right thing?" But eventually you'll be like, "I am so glad I married this person."
