Chapter 1: Confession

(July, 2024 - The girls are at the HYBE building and practicing for their  comeback)

Minji: 4, 3, 2 and Done. Great Practice guys! Let's take 5.

Hyein: I am so excited for our comeback. I missed out on our last promotion and I am dying to perform in front of our fans again.

Hanni: Me too, just take it easy from now on, our group is just not the same if one of us is missing.

(Haerin noticed that Danielle has been silent since they started their practice.)

Haerin: Dani-Unnie, you've been very quiet since last night's dinner. Is everything ok?

Danielle: Guys.. Um.. I need to tell you something.

Hanni: Why so serious all of a sudden? Did you get a boyfriend or something?

(Hanni joked teasingly but Danielle just continues to look at her members without any change in her expression)

Hanni: Whoa! Seriously?

Minji: Did you finally agree to go out with Niki? He has been constantly coming here almost daily asking for you and i gotta say that it's kinda annoying.

Danielle: Yes, but no. No it is not Niki. Its... Someone else.

Haerin: Is it someone we know? Who is it?

Danielle: I will tell you but you have to promise me that this will only be between us. No one else must know or this could lead to some serious and I mean SERIOUS trouble.

Hanni: Can you spill the beans already? We are dying here!!

Danielle: Ugh! Fine! Its.. umm.. V-sunbaenim.

(The girls just stared at each other with disbelief, completely dumbfounded at what Danielle told them)

Minji: What? Who? I am sorry. I thought you said V-sunbaenim. As in Kim Taehyung of BTS. I misheard you right?

Danielle: No, what you heard is correct. My boyfriend is Kim Taehyung of BTS.

(There was about 5 seconds of silence until all of Danielle's members exploded with complete shock and rapid fire questions. All of them began talking frantically at the same time, she fails to understand what they are saying)

Hyein: Are you freakin' kidding me?!
(shouted Hyein with her Aus-rean accent)

Haerin: How did that even happen? I mean I am happy for you but.. its just umm.. weird? Ugh.. Unnie can you help me explain! (Haerin asked Minji for some  support on the matter)

Minji: What we want to know is how this relationship started? And how come we are only finding out about this now?

Danielle: I was about to tell you if you just let me talk and stop freaking out about it! But after only when we are at the dorm. I don't want this to spill out accidentally.

Hanni: Ugh, fine. Breaktimes over girls. Let's get this practice over with so we can finally get to the bottom of this dating thing.

(The girls' practice ended and are now at their dorms. Before Danielle can even step foot in her room, she was immediately dragged by her 4 members into their living room to finally have the talk)

Minji: Ok, now that we are here and no one else is around. Please enlighten us on how you got the most handsome man in the world and not to mention one of the most famous people in the world to be your boyfriend?

Danielle: To be honest with you, to this day I still could not believe that we're really together. It's like I'm in a dream and will wake up any second now. Our first meeting was when we were filming super shy in spain and he came with PD-nim as she is producing his upcoming album.

Haerin: Oh yeah, I remember. He brought everyone on the set gelatos and coffee. I remember he gave Dani-unnie his strawberry frappe because she doesn't drink coffee at the time.

Hanni: Yeah, I gotta admit that was really sweet. And definitely earned BF material points. Not that he needed any to begin with I mean who wouldn't say yes to him?

Hyein: I am so jealous unnie! You know I have been an ARMY waaay waaay back before I was even a trainee. Can you at least tell V oppa to set me up with Jin Oppa?

Danielle: Actually, I don't think his members know about us either. The night that we became official, we agreed to not let anyone know for now.

Minji: Ok, we'll get back to that. How did you get acquainted with each other anyway? Where were we when this whole thing happened?

Danielle: Oppa, wanted one of us to feature in his song. His first choice was actually Hanni-unnie but I was the one present at the time he was talking with PD-nim and she told me to give it a go instead of Unnie. I was really nervous and kept messing up but he actually went inside of the booth with me and gave me advice which was really helpful. After that, he really liked how it turned out and even invited me to sing some of his other songs. Before we knew it it was already late and we decided to have dinner together with PD-nim but she had to cancel and let just the 2 of us have dinner. Oppa, is really sweet, funny and such a gentleman. I'll admit that I was not that big of a fan of BTS sunbaenim but after having a chance to get to know one of them that I finally understand why everyone loves them.. Why everyone loves him. During all this that I realized that without them, I don't think we will be as big as we are now. Of course PD-nim will still be the brains behind NewJeans. From that point on, I started seeing him in a new light. How he is basically my boss and yet he is still so humble and caring towards me. That's why I decided to tell him I like him, before the night ended and I may never have the chance again. I know that I am destined for failure because of our age gap first of all. And I don't even know if he has a girlfriend, but i didn't care. I wanted my foolish infatuation to be done and over with. But to my surprise, he told me that he likes me too. He is also worried what other people will think of us due to our age gap so we decided to just date silently and see how things will go. Now we are about to celebrate our 6th month anniversary and I really wanna surprise him in the Military. But I need your help.

Hanni: I can't believe it. Just one dinner and you immediately said yes? How reckless can you be? (Hanni told Danielle)

Danielle: it just happened, you'll understand once you meet him and I mean really get to know him.

Hyein: How are you spending time with each other? I don't think we've had any breaks since spain? You mean you've only spent a few times with each other? (Hyein asked Danielle)

Danielle: I think we've only hung out less than a dozen times. Some of them are even less than an hour short. But i am still very thankful that he is getting out of his way just to spend time with me.

Haerin: That is impressive, not to mention the fact that he is like one of the princes of Korea and can pretty much get any girl he wants. No offense unnie.

Danielle: Well, I guess I am just better than those girls.  (Danielle said to her members and walked away like a runway model flicking her hair at them)

Hyein: Hmmm, I guess I'll just have to go to Jin Oppa by myself then.

Minji: No you are not young lady! You will be the last one to get a boyfriend in this group you hear me! And especially not someone who's like 16 years older than you!

Hyein; No fair! How come Dani-unnie can have an older boyfriend?! And I don't even think Haerin-ni is interested in humans in the first place!

Haerin: And why am I being dragged into this discussion? I don't plan on dating anyone for at least another 10 years.

(After Danielle's confession, the girls gave her their blessing and promised to support her relationship. For the first time in a while, Danielle felt the giant weight on her shoulders finally disappear.)
