One week later, and I returned to work when unexpectedly, everyone came to greet me, surprised to see I was still here.
"Hey pet", said Carol, as I waved back to her.
"I thought you'd be away by now", Mildred noticed, "What happened?"
I smiled at them, "Well obviously with everything that happened with our regular and that case, it took over. But thankfully me and my dad spoke to the airline company, and they're willing to give us a refund for the whole trip."
They both couldn't believe their luck, "Really?" asked Carol.
"Yeah", I replied, "I think with the cost-of-living crisis, they understood that money was important to me. I did asked them if they were sure, and they said yes."
"Well we're happy that you're happy", mentioned Mildred.
I smiled even more, as I replied with a simple "So am I".
As I walked to my changing room, Adam grabbed my arm.
"Ahh", I agonised, "Careful".
"Sorry", apologised Adam, "But you have to come to the office. It's important."
I hurriedly ran to the office to find Arthur and someone who I never expected to see... David Beatz.
"No.... Way!!!!!" I screamed and raised over to hug him.
I let go of him after what felt like years and turned to Arthur, and asked with a simple "How?"
Arthur then brought me to one side, "Well I've been told by your dad that you're a massive fan of him. And David here saw the news of you and Adam being national heroes. And as you couldn't go to France, I decided to bring France to you."
"You mean... I can still have my week off?"
"Absolutely."
I couldn't believe my luck. I squeezed Arthur tightly, knowing that this is something I may never experience again. I then rushed over to David.
"Thank you for giving your time to come to the UK", I told him.
"No problem", he replied as he kissed my hand, "You were worth the time." He winked at me with the smile that would make every fangirl fall to their feet, making me blush. This was clocked by Adam and Arthur, making kissing noises to torment me friendly, but I only knew they were messing. But then I had a sudden thought, and mentioned to David, "What about your concert? What will your fans say?"
He then looked at me, knowing full well he knew what to do.
Later that evening, the castle grounds next to my workplace were packed, as thousands of his fans, some flown from France itself, came together. I couldn't believe it.
"Ladies and Gentlemen", the voiceover announced, "Please welcome to the stage, David Beatz!"
A loud uproar from the crowd came, as he made his way to the stage. He then had an announcement before he started.
"Thank you so much everyone", he announced, "Before I begin. I have an important announcement to make". The crowd then went silent, "I would like to dedicate this show to an incredible girl. Lydia Scott. She works nearly full-time, sacrificing her weekends to help keep your beautiful country going. She even sacrificed her holiday to keep all of your mouths fed. We are so proud of you Lydia, and this song is dedicated to you!"
He then plays his own tracks "Pyramids", which I saw on a TV audition, and I felt grateful for all of my achievements.
It was from this moment on where I couldn't wait to see what the future will hold!
