Evaelysse Targaryen was a mistake. Unplanned. Born from Rhea Royce in the Vale, even her own father didn't know of her existence.

Both Rhea and Daemon had to be dragged to the Sept on the day of their wedding. Daemon had no thought to bed her that night; instead, he went to a brothel and completely ignored his new wife.

Rhea was quite content with this. She went back to the Runestone, still a maiden, and carried on her life like normal. She didn't see Daemon for many years after, and for that, she was thankful.

Eventually she heard about the fighting in the Stepstones. She heard that her husband was fighting there. Secretly, she hoped he might die.

Fortunately for him and unfortunately for her, Daemon won the battle and lived. After the stresses of battle, Daemon found himself in need of company. Rather than go to a brothel as he usually did, he flew Caraxes to the Vale. That was the only night that he ever spent with his wife.

When Rhea found out that she was with child, she did everything in her power to make sure that Daemon Targaryen never found out. She had hoped that the child would be born with brown hair, like hers, and she could pass it off as a bastard, no matter what it did to her reputation.

Unfortunately for Rhea, Evaelysse was born the spitting image of her father. Small and strong-willed, her eyes were a deep purple, and as she grew older she grew a thick head of silver hair.

All the people around Rhea commented on how unfortunate it was that Evaelysse was a girl. However, the heir to Iron Throne was a girl, and Rhea felt that Evaelysse had as much claim to the Runestone as any son would, and named her heir.

Nearly two years after her birth, Daemon first heard about her, from someone who had recently visited the Vale. He was shocked, and angry, and instantly mounted Caraxes with the intention of finding her.

The same day, Rhea had taken her daughter out hunting deer with her. They were both sat on her horse, Evaelysse in front of Rhea. Evaelysse had always loved being outside, so her mother took her out as often as she could.

They had been out for a few hours, and Evaelysse was getting tired. They were on their way back when they encountered him. Evaelysse didn't see him straight away, as she was focused on tangling the horses mane up, but Rhea knew who he was instantly.

"Husband." Rhea greeted him, holding her daughter closer to her. Evaelysse looked up, and curiously watched the hooded man. "What brings you to the Vale?"

Daemon still didn't speak. He wasn't watching Rhea, instead he was focussed on the silver haired girl sat in front of his wife. His daughter.

"My daughter." Daemon said, moving his eyes back to Rhea. "What is her name?"

Rhea rolled her eyes. "Evaelysse, not that it should matter to you. She's nearly two years of age and not once have you bothered to meet her."

Daemon scowled angrily. "Maybe if her mother had sent word of her birth, then I would have visited her sooner."

He got closer to the horse, who was snuffling and whinnying at him. "May I hold her?"

Begrudgingly, Rhea passed her daughter down to Daemon. Evaelysse instantly snuggled into his side, comforted by his warm embrace. He smiled as she did so, and then made sure her eyes were covered.

"Now give her back." Rhea demanded, outstretching her arms. Daemon thought about it for a moment, before shaking his head.

"I don't think I'm going to do that."

As Rhea began to reach for her bow, Daemon lurched forwards, spooking the horse. The horse reared up, before slipping backwards, crushing Rhea beneath. The horse struggled on top of her for a moment, then got up and stumbled away.
