When Evaelysse woke up, she was sat in a chair surrounded by maesters. The blood around her face had dried, and was cracking across her skin as she winced.

"Your nose is broken, my princess." One of the maesters said, holding up a needle and thread. "I need to move it back into place, and then sew your skin back together."

Across the room, Evaelysse could see the other maesters sewing up Aemond's eye. It would not heal, that much was clear. She didn't care. She hated him.

The maester held her nose tightly, and pulled it back into position with a horrible crunch. Evaelysse cried out, her hands trying to push him away. He didn't move, and instead started threading the needle through her skin. The door swung open, and Rhaenyra and her father walked in.

"My daughter." Daemon rushed over, kneeling beside Evaelysse. "How did this happen?"

"They attacked me!" Aemond shouted, from his seat.

"Aemond attacked us!" Baela cried. "He stole Vhagar and broke Luke's nose tried to kill Evaelysse!"

The other children all began shouting, as Evaelysse just groaned in pain. The maester had moved onto her forehead, and the pain was near unbearable.

"Will she have a scar?" Daemon asked, squeezing Evaelysse's hand. "Will she be able to breathe properly? Will it heal?"

The maester leaned back, as he finished sewing Evaelysse's forehead up. "She will have a scar along her forehead, just above her left eye. Her nose will heal, mayhaps slightly wonky, but her breathing won't be affected."

"My sweet daughter." Daemon whispered, stroking her cheek. "You will have revenge, I promise you this."

"Enough." Viserys commanded, but no one seemed to listen. The other children and Alicent were all still firing accusations at each other. "Enough! Silence!"

They all fell silent as their king commanded them. "Aemond...I will have the truth of what happened. Now."

"What else is there to hear?" Alicent interrupted. "Your son has been maimed, her son is responsible."

"It was a regrettable accident." Rhaenyra said, pulling Jace and Luke closer to her.

"Accident?" Alicent scoffed. "The Prince Lucerys brought a blade to the ambush, he meant to kill my son!"

"Just as yours meant to kill my daughter." Daemon said lowly. Evaelysse didn't say anything, and leant further back in her chair. Her head was pounding against her skull, as though trying to escape.

"It was my sons, and Daemon's daughters, who were attacked, and forced to defend themselves!" Rhaenyra exclaimed. "Vile insults were levied against them."

"What insults?" Viserys asked, turning to face his daughter.

"The legitimacy of my son's birth was put loudly to question." Rhaenyra replied.

"What?"

"He called us bastards." Jace muttered, staring at the ground. A silence fell over the room again, and Evaelysse knew that it was because everyone knew, except King Viserys and maybe Lord Corlys, that really, they were.

"My sons are in line to inherit the Iron Throne, your grace." Rhaenyra stepped forward. "This is the highest of treasons. Prince Aemond must be sharply questioned so we may learn where he heard such slanders."
