Every time I laugh I see
their eyes fixated on my
crooked teeth
and every time I speak
they listen while their
expression changes into
judgment so heavy
all the words I wanted to say
fall off my tongue
back to my neck
to be alive and to be ashamed
of the way you think
of the way you think others think
of your naked body
of your early memories
and then you get bigger
and it grows with you
it stays in you
like the blood flowing through your veins
you should fall in love
with it
or else it will eat you
whole.
