TW: Swearing

Scar woke up warm on his mattress, surrounded by boxes. It was his first morning in his new home, and this place was more south than his old home in the cold forest. Today would be his first day at his new school. He pulled the covers off himself and went downstairs to have breakfast.

He and his dad had moved from the forest city. His parents had recently been divorced, and Scar had chosen to go with his dad. Scar was super excited and nervous for his first day of school, wondering whether he would make any friends or not. Scars heard his dad walking down the stairs.

"Morning" Scars dad said as Scar ate his toast.

"Morning" Scar replied.

"School starts at 9, and the bus arrives in 5 minutes. You should get going."

Shit ,Scar thought. He shoved the toast in his mouth, and almost fell up the stairs to his bedroom. Okay Okay what do I need? , Scar started ripping open the boxes in his room and grabbing stuff he thought he might need. Pencils, book, headphones, laptop...BAG, WHERES MY BAG! , Scar ripped open a heavy box, and found his dark forest green bag crumpled in the bottom. Shoving his items in the bag, he remembed he had not changed yet. He wore a green flannel and some baggy cargos, with some black converses.

Racing downstairs, he mumbled a bye to his father, before waiting at the front of his driveway for the bus. He looked down at his phone, and the picture of his cat, Jellie, looked up at him. He smiled, and put his phone away. He looked around at the unfamiliar neighbourhood, spotting that there were some kids his age standing in their driveways, also waiting for the bus. To his left there was a blonde haired boy his age with large red, blue and yellow wings and a girl a bit older, (presumably his sister) with equally large blue and gold wings. Scar looked the other way and saw the bus coming. He double checked he had his phone and bag and then hopped onto the bus when it stopped at his driveway. Most of the seats were full, so he sat in one of the only ones that was free. He put his headphones on and leaned his head on the window. It was only a minute before he felt a tap on his shoulder.

"Excuse me, can I sit here?"

It was the boy with the wings from next door.

"Sure" Scar said, taking his headphones off. The boy sat next to him and tucked his wings to his back as much as he could.

"I'm Grian, what's your name?" The blonde said, holding out his hand.

"I'm Scar, I just moved into the house next to yours. What year are you in? " He asked.

"Year 9, you?"

"Also Year 9! What classes are you in?" Scar exclaimed.

"I'm in architecture, and drama as electives, and class C for the others" Grian stated.

Scar looked shocked. Excitedly he said, "I'm in landscaping, drama and Class C!"

"I guess I'll be seeing you loads then?"

"Yup" Said Scar happily.

Grian's feathers puffed up but Scar didn't notice. Grian smiled and put his earplugs in. Scar did the same and closed his eyes, and still tired from yesterday, he drifted off to sleep.
