Everyone watched Max and Adrien play against each other in Ultimate Mecha Strike III while Alya recorded the whole thing.
"What's going on?" Marinette who just walked into the library asked, to which Alya shushed her.
"Try-outs for the Paris Ultimate Mecha Strike III Tournament! This school sends the two students with the highest scores!" Rose answered.
Kim walks up behind us and places his hand on my shoulder "Actually, the tryouts offer a partner to team up with Max in the Tournament.
"Why Max?" Marinette questioned.
" Cause he's unbeatable! He's a total rocksord! He's got the highest APM over anyone!" Kim states.
"APM?" Marinette asked.
"Actions Per minute," I answer.
"This tournament is his whole life! He's been grinding all year to level up," Kim revealed.
"I'm also trying out," I state making Kim look at me.
"You?"
"Yes, me."
"Do you even know how to play?" he asks.
I shrug "I think I'm decent enough."
Adrien's robot, NAD03, uses his special attack on Max's robot, MX-01. Resulting in Adrien winning.
"Adrien is now in the lead," Miss Bustier informs.
"What happened, Max?" Kim asked.
Max looks disappointed for a moment before sucking it up "Awesome job. We're gonna make a killer combo," he says high fiving Adrien.
"So let me get this straight. If someone manages to beat Max's score, they'll team up with Adrien at the tournament?" Marinette asks with an innocent smile.
"No one can beat Max. Or rather Max and Adrien. It's a slam dunk. They're our school's dream team!"
Alya pulls Marinette to the side by the hand while I walk over to Nino.
"I thought you wanted to try out, Dudette?" he asks with a raised brow.
"I do, b-but maybe I shouldn't besides Max wants this."
"Well, I think we have our two champions lined up for the Paris tournament," Mr. Damocles announced.
"Wait!" Marinette yelled, "Uh, is it too late... to try out?"
Kim, Rose and Alya gasped.
"Well, the library is closing up in ten minutes but..."
"Then if Marinette is trying out, Emilie should go against her. She did want to try out too. Then whoever wins goes up against Max. I think that should be fair enough," Nino interjects to which everyone nods in agreement.
