"She was promised to be my wife. You both made a promise to me. I haven't forgotten a thing, and I won't let you forget it either, " Taehyung stated sternly.

Those words made Mr. Park clench his teeth as a memory stirred in his mind. His anger fumed up.

"That promise was just a childish act. It had no meaning for us, and it should mean nothing for you as well.. Years have passed, and those things make no sense. It's rubbish now," Mr. Park snarled, his fists clenched at the sides as he glared at Taehyung's blank gaze.

"If my wife was alive, she would also never approve it. She would never leave her daughter in the hands of that kid who had grown up into a criminal. A murderer. A gangster - everything but a gentleman." Mr. Park spat out, making Taehyung ball his fists, but his face remained rigid and emotionless.

"Besides.." He took a step ahead,

"Let Y/n decide what she wants after knowing the truth. She will decide if she wants to be with you anymore or not." Mr. Park stated.

Taehyung's dark orbs gazed at the old mam coldly for a while before he parted his lips.

"Truth spoken at the wrong times could be more dangerous than any lie, Mr. Park... This is not the right time, and you're not the right person who should disclose this to her.." He uttered, looking into Mr. Park's eyes, who scowled at him in response, but he chose to ignore it and continued,

"I believe you care for her as much as I do. Her knowing everything at this moment will do nothing but mess up both of our lives even more. Especially for Y/n. If she got to know anything, she wouldn't be able to either live with me or without me.." He stated.

"Telling her everything might satisfy your rising anger for a while, but it will crumple not only mine but your daughter's life as well. Everything had become very sensitive between us, and any wrong move can almost break us apart. So, I request you, don't do absurd things in your anger." Taehyung stated calmly.

He wasn't afraid of her knowing the truth, but once she found out, a myriad of questions would flood her mind, to which he had no answers. There was nothing he could say to explain himself.

She would definitely ask him thousands of things, and he would not be able to answer any single one of them. Not a single thing was explainable. Everything was tied back to him.. To his past.. She doesn't remember him, and it should remain that way now.. He didn't want even a hint of his past to touch her. He wanted her to remain oblivious. Entirely.

He let out a quiet breath, observing Mr. Park's eyes still bore at him in anger and contempt, but he ignored that stare and said,

"Let me handle this. I assure you that I will never hurt your daughter... Ever again.. You've my words.." He said, sounding somehow plain and cold yet honest and humble at the same time.

Jungkook, who was silently watching them the whole time while leaning against his car, sighed hearing their conversation because he knew how Mr. Park were.

They were honorable lawyer, and always very strict and disciplined with their morals and ethics. They could never accept Taehyung after this, nor would they look at him the same way as before, regardless of his sincerity.
