The sky had darkened, the wind howled making the trees sway violently along the roadside, their bare branches bending under wind's force. Dry leaves spiraled across the pavement as people hurried along the sidewalks, heads down, pulling at their clothes tightly.

Taehyung's car sped through the busy road, the cold wind whipping against his flushed skin through the open window. His grip on the steering wheel remained tight, his knuckles bone-white. The passing scenery blurred as his vision was already moist.

His mind raced too fast for him to focus. His fingers twitched on the wheel, his breaths shallow, his heart pounding so violently that he could feel the pulse hammering against his throat.

Why was he feeling this way? Why did it feel like something was ripping him apart?

An restless ache clawed at his chest. His entire body was tense, sweaty even, despite the dengerously chilly weather. His jaw tightened as he couldn't shake off the suffocating weight of unease sitting in his gut.

A vein throbbed in his temple, his muscles coiled with pent-up frustration, and his mind.... his mind wouldn't stop replaying her teary eyes, her trembling lips, the way her hands had hovered in the air when he pulled away from her touch.

A lump formed in his throat.

She was still crying. He could feel it.

Even if he wasn't there, even if she was inside that goddamn house with her father, he could still feel her tears, hear her broken sobs echoing in the deepest parts of his soul. He fucking almost feel like she was calling him.

He glanced down at his hands and noticed his fingers were literally trembling. The blood chilling in his veins. His heart was aching with an unbearable sting.

"Shit," he hissed under his breath, gripping the wheel so tightly that his nails dug into the leather.

The feeling only worsened the further away he drove from her. His breaths came out ragged, chest heaving, and for a split second, his vision blurred again from the sharp sting pricking in his eyes, causing him to slam the breaks abruptly, panting hard.

A tear trickled down his cheek as he placed a hand against his chest. Why his heart was squeezing with inexplicable pain? Why was he feeling this sudden restlessness.
His fingers trembled. His throat become dry. He was really uneasy.

This wasn't right. Something was so wrong.

He should go back. His intuition told him he needed to go back. She needed him. He could feel it -

'You're scaring me. I don't want to face you right now. I don't want to be near you. I want to be alone.'

Her words pierced into his ears. His throat tightened and a vein bulged out against his neck as he clutched his jaw. His fists clenched as he tried to swollow down his emotions. He looked up, taking few deep breath. More tear slid down from the corners of his eyes, trailing down his temple. He didn't even know why? Why were they falling? Why was he feeling pain?

He wanted to see her. He needed to see her. But she didn't want to.

She needed some time. The least he could do right now is to give that. Some fucking time to collect her emotions. Even if it was killing him.

His phone rang, snapping him out of his turmoil as his attention drew to it. It was from the hospital. He exhaled exasperatedly and restarted the car.

Minutes later, his car slowed down as he pulled into the hospital parking lot. Just as he stepped out, a cold droplet of water landed on his cheek. He blinked up at the sky.
