Everything was still, like the breath of dawn hadn't dared to stretch its arms yet. The air was cool, still touched by the night's last exhale, mist swirling in it like sprinkled stardust.

The light creeping through the curtains was soft, dipped in pale pink and orange, dust particles floating in it like slow-motion snow. And in that peaceful hush, the only sound filling the room was her soft and steady breaths.

The thick sheets wrapped around her frame as she lay on her side, nuzzled into the pillow, half asleep and half aware of the familiar warmth pressed to her back.

The bed shifted behind her. She could feel the sheets being tugged before a strong arm lazily circled her waist from behind, pulling her into a tight, sleepy embrace.

His nose nudged against the nape of her neck, breath hitting her skin in tiny puffs. His chest pressed to her back like he was trying to melt into her. His leg slung lazily over hers. His whole body collapsed onto her like she was a pillow he never got tired of cuddling. Heavy, soft, and unreasonably clingy as always.

She smiled faintly without opening her eyes.

He nuzzled into her neck deeper, lips brushing the hollow of her neck. His breath was soft. Faintly ticklish like summer wind brushing against flower petals.

His fingers slowly traced her waist beneath her t-shirt, feeling her skin like his soul was checking if she was still there. Her skin tingled when his lips planted a tender kiss on her neck. She smiled, her face still against the pillow. Sleep hadn't let her go completely, but his touch melted her somewhere deep, beneath skin and time and memory.

Until,

He bit her skin. Right on the dip of her shoulder.
Nibbling with his teeth making her let out a sleepy groan.

"Ow..." she mewled, barely woken up from her slumber, and the sound that followed made her stomach flutter.

His laugh.

His low, soft, playful giggle vibrated against her back. The sound so heavenly enchanting that always made her toes curl and heart turn to honey.

"Good morning, little doll.."

His husky, deep voice followed, his breaths, his words feathering against her ear.

"Still pretending to sleep, hmm..?"

Mischief dripped from his tone as his lips grazed her earlobe. She didn't move, nor greeted him back. He nestles his nose into her hair even more, humming in delight.

"Do you want me to bite harder?"

She tried to hold back the smile, but her lips twitched anyway.

"Don't you dare" She murmured, sleepily.

He giggled again, voice muffled by her hair and she stayed still, fighting back a smile.

"Yeah?" His hand slid up, tracing her ribs underneath her shirt.

"Then get up..." he whispered, pressing a slow, lingering kiss to her nape. She shivered again, heart racing.

"Go away. You're hot.." She elbowed his ribs but ended up whining when he tightened his hold, pulling her closer.

"Mm... I know it..." he rasped out, his voice deep and sleepy that made her heart forget how to beat.

"No." She frowned, causing him to cackle.
"I mean, you're warming me up.."

"I always do.."

She sighed. She could already feel him grinning into her skin as he cuddled up to her tighter.
