MAKARIA

The air was thick. It was dead silent as Hades and I glared at one another. He knew he fucked him when he called me his daughter because I was barely. I could see the regret in his eyes for saying that. He didn't want to give me the satisfaction, yet was stupid enough to give into his anger.

"That's rich coming from you." I said with a smirk. "The Hades I knew would never slips like this."

He grumbled before replying, "Silence, Makaria! I will not tolerate disrespect!"

I rolled my eyes. Who was he bossing around? The last time he did that with me, I ran away from hell and hooked up with an angel. He was furious but stepped on his dignity and apologized for yelling at me—only because he didn't want me to be anywhere near an angel. He's stupid to think I wouldn't do it again.

"What are you going to do? Kill me? Banish me?" I taunted. "You've tried before, yet failed. Only Zeus could do it." I'd hit a nerve because the next thing he did, was lift the lightening bolt and struck me with it.

After that, it was all black.

* * *

The sound of the trees, the chirping of the birds, the hiss of the wind—I could hear all of this around me as I laid on my back with my eyes closed. I couldn't open my eyes, yet, but my ears were wide open, attentive to everything around me.

I only opened my eyes when I heard my name.

"Makaria!"

I jolted up with wide eyes, shocked as it was the first time I sleep or even faint. I have slept before but not deeply. I could never sleep without being aware of everything around me.

I looked forward only to see Ares and Alexander standing in front of me.

I furrowed my eyebrows and looked around me.

I was back to Earth—more specifically Olympus High's woods. I was confused as hell, but I didn't show it.

"What are you doing here?" Ares asked as he helped me stand up.

My body was still in shock from the lightening bolt. I was shivering as if the cold weather hit my body with a splash.

"Makaria?" Alexander called this time. His face held concern for the first time.

How long had I been away? The time in hell was different, yes, but it wouldn't've been this long.

Maybe I was out for long?

"I...how long was I gone?"

"10 days." Ares replied.

2 days in hell and 8 days asleep on the ground in the woods.

"What's going on? Why are you still here?" I asked as we walked to the school.

Ares sighed before replying, "Makaria, the spell your mother casted only lasted for a while."

"What the fuck do you mean?!" I glared at him. How dare he accuse my mother!

"Your mother didn't cast the right spell."

"But the gate opened!" I argued.

We neared the school and many students were standing outside.

"It opened for a short time. That's why no more of those werewolves came in."

I sighed.

My mother tricked me. Who was I going to trust if not her?

"Makaria!" Penelope ran and hugged me. My body welcomed the warmth from my friend, but I was a bit uncomfortable because I wasn't used to hug anyone. I was a demon.

I patted her back—that's the most she's getting out of me.

"Miss you too, Penelope."

"You left, just like that." She accused me with a glare.

I looked between the guys and her and replied, "I had to. Though, I wish I didn't. If what they're saying is true—" I pointed at Ares and Alexander. "—then I went back for nothing—was out for 8 Earth days for nothing—and argued with Hades for nothing."

"What do you mean out for 8 days?" Ares asked with confusion.

I sighed deeply. "Hades hit me with the lightening bolt before sending me back here."

"He what?!" Penelope screamed, attracting unwanted attention from the rest of the students, who sent glares my way—probably because my mother didn't fulfill their wishes.

"That's not important now. We need to find a way to lift this shitty Rosalie curse." I grumbled.

She was a pain in the ass. If Rosalie was in front of me now, I would have killed her.

I know she was trying to protect her people, but she did them dirty.

"I don't have any hope left for that." Maia joined us. "Hey, Makaria." She added.

"Hey Maia."
