Meera pov :

It was twilight, the sky bathed in soft hues of orange casting a gentle glow over the mansion's garden. The garden was a serene haven, filled with various neatly maintained flower plants. Each bloom seemed to bask in the fading sunlight, their colors even more vibrant in the twilight hour. Adrian had enhanced this area just for me, knowing how much I loved gardening. Pedro Uncle had mentioned that Adrian had taken extra care to make this place even more beautiful.

Camila and I were seated on a cozy bench, sipping tea as the cool evening breeze played with my hair. Alba and Jose were laughing and playing nearby, their joy adding a lighthearted touch to the peaceful surroundings.

Camila took a sip of her tea, then sighed contentedly. "Meera, this tea is amazing! The spices really enhance the flavor."

I smiled, tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear. "No need to mention it, Cami," I replied politely, happy that she enjoyed it. As we chatted, Camila pulled out an old photo album and showed me Adrian's childhood photos. It's rare to see a physical album these days, with everything being digital. The photos are neatly placed inside, and to my surprise, some of them were taken back in Burlington, with me in them. Camila explained that their mom had saved these pictures here.

I looked at Camila, noticing how her face had filled out since the last time I saw her in Austria a few months ago. She seemed healthier, with a soft glow, but there was something in her eyes—maybe a trace of sadness or something unresolved. Despite everything, she never showed any ego towards me, and never acted possessively about her place in the family. But I couldn't shake the feeling that she might be missing Mr.Adam Stone. I remembered the way they had exchanged glances during our wedding, and it made me curious.

"Cami, can I ask you something?" I said, trying to keep my tone light but sincere.

She looked at me and smiled gently. "Of course, Meera. You are like a little sister to me so feel free to ask me anything!"

I took her hand in mine. "I know you see me as your little sister, and if that's true, then you have to answer me honestly, okay?"

She nodded, a little hesitantly.

"Do you like Adam Stone?" I asked directly, not wanting to beat around the bush. I could see her squirm in her seat, her eyes avoiding mine. I squeezed her hand gently. "Cami,  No one's going to force you to do anything—your happiness is all that matters."

I could see the hesitation in Camila's eyes as she looked away, She had been through so much with Javier, he made her life a living hell.

"Cami, it's okay," I said softly, squeezing her hand gently. "I know it's not easy to talk about these things, but you deserve happiness. What happened with Javier was terrible, but it doesn't mean you're not allowed to find love again. Adam is a good man. If you have feelings for him, that's nothing to be ashamed of."

She looked at me, her eyes filled with worry. " what if Papa or Adrian think less of me for even considering another man after everything?"I'm already 31, and I have two kids. It's not just about me anymore."

I shook my head, squeezing her hand a little tighter. "Cami, you deserve to be happy. And as for Papa and Adrian, they only want what's best for you. They're not going to judge you for wanting to move on and find happiness again. They know what you went through with Javier, and they'd support you in whatever you choose."

Her eyes softened, and a tear slipped down her cheek. "You think so?"

"I know so," I said with confidence. "And Cami, you're not alone. We're all here for you—me, Dad, Adrian. We all want you to be happy, whether that's with Adam or just focusing on yourself and the kids, but don't let fear hold you back from something that could bring you true happiness."
