Third pov:
It had been two days since their weekend getaway, and here they were, in one of the finest supermarkets in Madrid. The place was buzzing with people—families, couples, and individuals weaving through the aisles, while soft background music played from the speakers. The bright lights above illuminated the neatly stacked shelves, and the air was filled with the scent of fresh produce and baked goods. Adrian, ever the obedient and doting husband, was casually pushing the trolley behind Meera, his eyes glued to her every movement. Meera, completely oblivious to his intense gaze, was busy analyzing the section of ketchup and mayonnaise.
Adrian, dressed in a casual black t-shirt that hugged his muscular frame and dark jeans, couldn't help but smirk. His wife was a sight to behold in her comfortable yet chic sundress, a soft pastel color that highlighted her dusky skin. Her long hair cascaded down her back, swaying as she leaned forward to inspect a bottle of ketchup.
She pondered over the two bottles, mumbling, "Which one should we choose?" Adrian leaning against the trolley with a cocky smirk. "You could pick any of these, and I'd still want to taste you instead."
Meera shot him a quick, wide-eyed glance," Adrian!" she whispered, He smirked, and shrugged, "Doesn't make it any less true" He casually slipped his hand around her waist "Adrian!" she gasped, "Can we please focus on grocery shopping?"
Adrian chuckled, completely unfazed by Meera's flustered expression as he continued to flirt with her, showing the cucumbers, banana and whipped cream, his teasing voice low and playful. She tried to focus on the groceries, glancing at the rows of condiments, but her mind kept drifting back to his words.
In an attempt to change the subject, she spoke up as they walked toward the next aisle. "So, why didn't you tell me Diego was going to propose to Dahlia?"
Adrian scoffed, a smirk plastered on his face. 'Yeah, right. Like if I'd told you, Elena also would have known, and you two would have blabbed it to Dahlia, before he could even pop the question. You're basically human megaphones when it comes to maintaining secrets with your friends.'
Meera pouted at him, sticking her bottom lip out dramatically. "I wouldn't have!" she sulked, Adrian couldn't help but smile at the sight of his wife, so adorable in her frustration. She was trying to be serious, but he knew how to push her buttons, and it amused him endlessly.
Before he could tease her again, his phone rang. His expression shifted immediately, eyebrows furrowing as he glanced at the screen. His usual playful tone became more serious. "Meera, you go ahead and finish up," he said, passing her the trolley. "I need to take this call."
She nodded, taking the trolley from him, though her curious eyes followed him as he walked outside to answer the call.
"Señor Hernandez," came the voice on the other end. "Vishal se despertó. (Vishal woke up)."
Adrian's jaw tightened slightly. "I'll be there," he replied in a firm, no-nonsense tone before cutting the call. His mind was already working, and he was planning his next move, but he had to inform Meera first.
When he returned, Meera looked up expectantly. "Is everything okay?"
Adrian's voice softened, though it held that edge of authority. "Vishal woke up. I need to head to the warehouse."
Meera frowned, her concern for him evident. "Shall I come with you?"
Adrian shook his head, his tone firm but loving. "No, amor. You don't need to see that. Go home with Martine." He didn't want her anywhere near the rougher parts of his world, especially not the warehouse where he dealt with situations like this in his "own style."
