Chapter 39: Midnight

Third Person POV

Taehyung stops at the base of the stairs of Jeongguk's building, his eyes fall on the elevator door right next to it and he gulps, closes his eyes and shakes his head to not think of the events of that day.

He looks at the stairs in front of him and sighs because there's no other way he'd be going upstairs except the stairs as there's no way he's talking the elevator.

He clutches the plastic bags in his hand and takes his first step. "It's fine, Tae. You can do it. It's just little work." Taehyung mumbles as he climbs the stairs.

Fourth floor and he's about to fall or he's sure his legs definitely would. He curses as he stops to take a few breaths. His throat is dry and he curses as he goes further up because Jeon Jeongguk had to live right on the top floor.

Taehyung is almost struggling to breathe the moment he steps on the last floor and sits on the last stair for a moment, catching his breath.

"November and I'm sweating!" Taehyung exclaims, wiping his forehead to rid of the little precipitations.

"I swear if he isn't home---I'm going to fuck him up." Taehyung mumbles as he gets up and grabs the plastic bags once again and walks towards the door.

He deliberately knocks loudly and continuously, a little need to irritate Jeongguk just because he wants to as the moment and it's no ulterior motive.

He hears footsteps when he stops knocking for a moment and his heart stutters a beat and he starts knocking again.

"Fucking stop that!" Jeongguk's voice roars from inside and Taehyung smiles mischievously but keeps knocking, pretty sure he'll be causing the boxer to have noise complaint too.

"Fuck off!" Jeongguk yells and he sounds like he's just behind the door and Taehyung stops knocking.

It seems like Jeongguk has seen who it is because Taehyung hears a little 'oh' from the other side. The door opens to a surprised looking Jeongguk rather than an irritated one.

"Why did you have too see me through the security?" Taehyung scoffs. Jeongguk still seems like he's recovering from the shock of seeing Taehyung here.

"You---uh, what are you doing---here?" Jeongguk stutters and Taehyung gulps because well, he has no idea why he should be here either except for well, a thank you but he can do that back in his shop too.

"I don't know." Taehyung whispers and looks down, swaying his body a little.

"I brought food though." Taehyung mumbles as he raises his arms with food bags in his hands. A smile forms on Jeongguk's lips as he nods a little and tilts his body to the side to make way.

Taehyung nibbles on his lower lip as he tentatively walks inside Jeongguk's apartment and hears the door shut behind him. He takes a deep breath and takes off his shoes, might as well just walk inside now that he's here.

Because he lost a significant amount of confidence the moment Jeongguk opened the door, looking fresh out of shower and suddenly he didn't know what he was here for.
