They see a monster, I see a kid

Chapter 9: friends? Naw, comrades maybe

I stand still as i wait for the gaurds to do something.

"Why didnt you kill her?" an older man who I assume to be head chief walks outside and asks me. In response I tap my collar and shrug. "Not in your orders" he says thinking. 

"All right then, dismissed" he says pointing at the hanger where the avian from before, who I assume to be an escort, is waiting.

I nod in affirmative before walking towards the avian. Now that I see them facing me as I walk closer I can confirm they have dull Grey eyes. They simply make a motion for me to follow before walking off. They seem to know where they are going which surprises me when I notice a collar poking out of their feathers. 

They wear prison esk clothing but purple with the watcher symbol but they don't seem to be as restrained as I am. 

We arrive at a familiar door and when pushed open I see three cells but this time only one is empty. There is a gaurd inside already waiting for us. I walk straight into my cell which is locked behind me with no issue. 

The avian stalls.

To most you would see nothing on the avians face, i see hidden confusion. 

I guess they weren't told they were moving<Eagle> says. In the waiting time I was trying my best to absorb any sunlight I could. I just got enough to wake jasmine to my relief.

"You've been transfered to the deepest level of solitary confinement to keep you two close to eachother." The gaurd says pointing to the now not so empty cell. "Can't have this one under any less security" the gaurd says with a smirk as he locks the cell to my left after the avian goes in.

The gaurd leaves

For the past for an hour or 2 me and the avian sit in silence. That silence is broken when the avian opens its mouth.

"Hi"

My head snaps up from looking at the floor. My hybrid features have long since been hidden but if I had any of the special ears they would snap up. The avian is looking straight at me with owlish eyes, they don't show any emotion tho so I cant really understand their motive.

I wave non-committedly. And an akward silence settles over us.

"Do you talk?" I shake my head

"Well just asking if you Think we could be friends?" She whisper. I shrug in response, i dont make friends, only acquaintances. "Well maybe not friends, but I just want us to be on good terms if we're stuck together." The girl says again. The whole time her voice just seemed slightly nervous so I trust she's being genuine.

I Think this over and, yeah, she's right. Being on good terms would make things easier. So I nod in agreement. She visibly perks up, head wings going up slightly and we settle into silence.

The silence is no longer so deafening, I have another whole person with me. I dont know them, but, having someone almost like me makes me feel at ease with them. I send her a feeling of calm with my moon magic and it seems she picks up on it as she forms a half smile.
