As the night continued, Mei offered Sylus takeout, curious to find out what he liked to eat. She realized she didn't know much about his preferences and thought this might be a good way to learn. However, Sylus insisted on cooking for both of them instead. He opened her refrigerator, glancing inside with a relaxed expression. "I'm not picky, as long as it's delicious," he said, his voice smooth and reassuring.

Mei, a bit taken aback, gave up on the takeout idea and decided to assist him by showing where the kitchen items were kept. As Sylus began putting on the apron and preparing the meal, Mei couldn't help but watch him with curiosity. He looked like a husband material coming out of story. There was something mesmerizing about the way he moved in the kitchen, confident and graceful, as if he had done this a thousand times before.

"Do you need any help?" she asked, feeling a bit useless just standing there.

Sylus glanced at her with a soft smile. "Staring at me is all I need," he replied, his tone playful yet sincere.

Mei blushed slightly, feeling a mix of embarrassment and warmth at his words. She continued to watch him, the aroma of the food slowly filling the kitchen, as she wondered what kind of person Sylus really was. There was still so much she didn't know, but in this moment, with him cooking in her kitchen, it felt like they were beginning to understand each other a little better.

When Sylus finished cooking, he unveiled a dish that could only be described as a masterpiece—perfectly seared duck breast with a glistening cherry reduction, alongside creamy truffle mashed potatoes and vibrant, sautéed asparagus. The moment Mei laid eyes on it, she gave a surprised look. The rich aroma filled the room, and the presentation was so stunning, it looked like something from a five-star restaurant.

"Wow, Professor, this is... amazing!" Mei exclaimed, her voice full of excitement as her eyes sparkled with admiration. She could hardly believe that something so luxurious had been prepared right in her own kitchen.

Unable to contain her enthusiasm, she quickly helped plate the food on the dinner table, carefully arranging the utensils and making sure everything was just right. Her hands moved a little faster, her heart racing with anticipation.

Once they were both settled, Sylus looked at her with that familiar, gentle smile. "Go ahead don't be shy, taste the food," he encouraged.

With a mix of excitement and curiosity, Mei took a bite. The moment the flavors hit her palate, her eyes widened in sheer delight. "Wow, this is incredible!" she gasped, "Professor, you could seriously open a restaurant!"

Sylus smiles while putting his chin on his hand "is that so?" Mei then nodded while grabbing another bite "yes- I'd be your first customer, and I'd give it a 5-star review—no question!"

Sylus chuckled, clearly pleased with her reaction. "Then I suppose once I did open my own restaurant, I should expect to see you every day." he teased, his tone light and playful.

Mei blushed, her heart fluttering at his words. She couldn't stop smiling, the excitement bubbling up inside her as she realized how special this moment was. The meal, the conversation, everything—it felt perfect, like a dream she didn't want to wake up from.

As they were eating, Mei found herself unable to ignore the questions swirling in her mind. She glanced at Sylus, tilting her head slightly as she pondered how to approach the subject. Sylus, ever perceptive, noticed her thoughtful expression and smiled softly. "I'm not blind, sweetie," he said in his usual dreamy tone. "Go ahead, talk to me."

Mei hesitated for a moment before looking at him directly. "I wanted to ask... who were those two men earlier? The ones with the crow-like masks?"

Sylus's expression a little serious as he realized the conversation was about to take a turn. "Those were my loyal henchmen, Luke and Kieran," he replied, his voice steady. "You can always approach them if you need anything, they are now served to you as well" he implies.
