*** Hey guys, hope you like this new chapter.

Just an FYI, I've changed May's name to Mae. Only a slight change, but I much prefer this spelling.

So, anyway, let me know what you think. Leave a comment and vote :) :)***

When Bailey woke, she was in darkness again. For a moment she feared she was in that bed again, but then the walls surrounded her started to move as she was jerked upwards. The only thing that prevented her from slamming her head against the ceiling was the seat belt that was wrapped around her. She realised that the walls around her was the interior of a car.

Images danced through her subconscious again. Too fast for her to make sense of. Vague faces, but no details stood out. Sounds, yells, cries. It felt like another nightmare. God, she hoped every nightmare didn't come with a seizure.

Rubbing her eyes, Bailey peered out the windows, seeing nothing but trees. It was dark, but she could see the dirt road beneath the tires as a trail of dust followed behind the moving vehicle.

First she woke in an abandoned building, now she woke in a moving vehicle. She was not having a good day. She knew she should have skipped school today.

Beside her, steering wheel gripped between her stiff fingers, sat Mae. She glanced sideways, relief washing off her as Bailey struggled to orientate herself, but at least Bailey was awake. No longer convulsing. "You okay?"

Bailey's hand dropped to her lap and she looked at the dashboard. It was almost midnight. Her parents were gonna kill her. "I'm fine. Where are you taking me?" A bunch of nightmare scenarios of kidnappings flashed through her mind, but somehow she doubted Mae had anything nefarious planned for her.

"Home."

Bailey looked at her in doubt. "Home? My home or your home?"

Mae glanced at her again. "I've spent my life on the run, Bailey. I've never been in one place long enough to consider calling it a home."

Bailey frowned. Her words unnerved her, even more than the pain she felt coming off Mae. "Why?"

Mae looked away, but the pain she felt only increased. She didn't answer, instead after clearing her throat, she said, "Your parents are worried. I think what I've done today is considered kidnapping a minor. There's an amber alert out for you."

Bailey's eyebrowed shot up. "Really?"

"Don't be so shocked, Bailey. The Supernatural Council won't let you out of their sights now." Mae slowed down the vehicle as she made a sharp turn. Suddenly, the dirt road was gone, making it a much smoother ride.

"Because I'm an alpha?" Bailey watched as the surrounding trees thinned, and houses sprouted in the horizon. She still didn't know where she was, but the scents she pulled from outside were somewhat familiar. She was definitely back in Purefin.

"Because you're an alpha." Mae sounded grim, her fingers tightening on the steering wheel.

"And that bothers you?"

Mae released a steady breath as she slowed down and stopped at a traffic light. Her eyes shone as she waited for the light to turn green again.

"Is that why you told me to hide my powers?" Bailey kept pushing. May knew something. Maybe she knew what bloodline she belonged to? She didn't even think the Council had figured that one out yet.

"You're not safe."

"So you've said. Is that why that thing attacked me at school?"

"Yes."
