"SO, WHERE'S THIS JASON TAKING you then?" Haley asked her younger sister, smirking teasing as she watched Lucy fixing her make-up in her compact mirror whilst she sat on one of the stools in the kitchen.
"We're going on a double date with Stacy and Tyler," Lucy explained, slamming the mirror shut and putting it back into her purse. She stood up, smoothing out her dress. Moving out the way when Luke walked past, making sure he wouldn't get his dirty hands anywhere near her outfit, "Damn Luke, do you not know how to eat without making a mess?"
She heard the front door opening and her dad's voice moving closer but she didn't bother looking up, keeping her glare on the back of her brother's head, watching him walk over to the sink. Rolling his eyes.
"Do you want me to use you like a tea towel?" He challenged, raising his ketchup covered hand up, threatening to go over to Lucy and wipe it on her clothes.
She pointed her finger at him, "Don't you dare!"
Luke moved forward, causing Lucy to move back before they were cut off by Phil gaining their attention. Lucy pushed Luke away, manoeuvring her body to make sure his hands were far from her, she looked over towards her father when she noticed another figure behind him. Her eyes widening and her face paling as she stared at the familiar face.
"Sorry about that," Phil chuckled, glancing back at the young man standing behind him, "These are three of my kids. Luke, Haley and Lucy," He said, pointing to each person as he introduced them.
Haley stepped closer to her sister, nudging her side with her elbow and sending her a knowing smirk.
"Kids, this is my new co-worker, Diego," Phil grinned, gesturing to the young man.
Lucy stared at the camera.
Her eyes wide. Her mouth opening and closing like a fish. Her face slightly pale.
"Hi," Diego greeted them, raising his hand in a small wave. He held a friendly smile on his face whilst his eyes kept stealing glances at Lucy. Shocked to see her again.
"Is that..." Haley whispered.
"Yep," Lucy quickly answered.
"Hi, Diego," Haley grinned, "So nice to meet you for the first time ever."
Phil didn't notice the weird interaction before he gestured between Lucy and Diego, "Lucy is the daughter who's going to be starting with me next week," He explained, "Lucy, before you go off on your date can you help your new co-worker take some signs out to his car?"
